Ojukwu scored some points but seemed to struggle defending/boarding (not the only one),, looked like Langarita was waiting to come in the last couple minutes but there was no stoppage
Langarita is too slow to defend this quick team. Their players are beating their Cal defenders most of the time and have opened up a 10-point margin. The Lions are playing harder on defense than the Bears are. Columbia has three players in double figures mid-way through the 3rd quarter while Cal has no players.
Cal cuts 12-point deficit to 4, but Columbia hits basket at third quarter buzzer. Both teams warming up offensively and score 20. Fourth quarter should be interesting...

I think the bigger issues are that Columbia is absolutely frustrating the Bears' offense and Columbia gets rebound after rebound after rebound.
Bears looking a step slow and Columbia is playing with far more intensity/effort. If they don't flip the switch really soon, they lose.
Need more plays where Walker doesn't bring her hands down inside. That should be her strength.
Walker missed layup after beautiful pass sure killed the comeback momentum. We have lost well over 10 points on simple missed layups.

No Rally Com, no cheerleaders or dance team, no Oski. Only the Cal Straw Hat Band showed up. Even Columbia brought cheerleaders across the country.

That was just an awful possession down 3 with 50 seconds to go - ending with a Sheppard drive and turnover. But, it was just a total team inability to get a shot.

Offensive rebounds - Columbia 16 Cal 5
That seems to have been the difference.
Couple of other telling stats: Fast Break, where Cal usually does well - Columbia 12 Cal 5
And Columbia credited with 10 steals to Cal's 4.
