Regardless of who starts I think our team will be better than this past season.

We lost a good center who helped us greatly. We also lost 4 backup guards who were not perfect but gave us depth and options.

However, we have 7 returning players including 4 starters and 1 rotation player. All have gained a year of experience and a year of playing together. That's huge.

We have gained 2 centers, which will help with depth. I can't say how they'll play in the ACC but I trust Charmin's judgement.

We have gained 3 guards. I expect Shannon to play much better as a senior than Puff played as a freshie. Carly brings length and 3-point shooting and Ruby brings high-level international experience.

We have gained 2 forwards, which should address a weakness from this past season.

The addition of Shannon will give us a chance to win close games we lost this year. I think the 2 posts will be better than Sakima, Claudia and Naya. The addition of Zara and a healthy Taylor will be a big plus. I think Carly and Ruby will be really good 9th and 10th players that will contribute positive minutes.

Sakima Walker was a legit ACC post player who opponents had to account for. Not sure if there's anyone at that level in the paint this season.

Without a legit threat on the block, open threes are a lot harder to come by.

Agree with you. I'm thinking that any drop off with the starter will be more than compensated for with a competent backup.

I am pretty optimistic about Syla . 6'5". MVP in the Atlantic 10 tournament. Then put up 10 points and 9 rebounds against Alabama in the NCAA tournament. And she was only a sophmore.

Jevtovic is 6'4" and also has solid stats and experience in Euro FIBA tournaments. Was MVP in the Under 20 Division B tournament.

Still to be seen how they will do in the ACC. But they are not starting from scratch.

Where's wvitbear? Haven't seen him post in awhile. He would normally chime in on the WBB site. On the road traveling to visit the kids?
