Two of those AP Top 25 teams, UNC (January 7) and NC State (January 21), visit Haas in January.

The ACC 2026-27 WBB Preseason Poll released on October 13th predicts a 10th place finish for Cal.

Last season, we were predicted to finish 12th.

The way college sports is now structured, it is going to be very hard to have a break-out team. Probably only if you have a great deal of money. Looking at the current 2027 ESPN Top 100 players, 12 of the top 20 have now committed to the following teams - LSU. South Carolina (2), Notre Dame (2), North Carolina (2), Vanderbilt, Baylor (2), Texas, Indiana. And several more are considering USC and UCLA.

Actually, that is pretty much how it had been going before, but with the money being provided under the table.

We will be competing hard to finish in the top half of the ACC, which will be a very good accomplishment given this environment.

Ashley MacCalla, a 5-star guard who attends school in DC and is #15 on that top 20 list, has Cal as one of her 5 finalists.

Besides Cal, the other 4 schools are: Oklahoma, Rutgers, Miami and Virginia.

Ashley will announce her commitment on November 7 at 1 pm ET.

You must have a better source on her than I have. Her instagram indicated that she has also visited South Carolina and LSU. But she seems like a unique individual and may give some actual consideration to academics,

She has offers from just about everybody. All I ask is that she visit Cal, where individuals can be unique.

She visited Cal back on October 6. There's a thread on here about it.

Lol.

Actually, I saw it earlier tonight in an Instagram post from recruiting analyst, dushawn_london (247Sports). He's followed by Cal assistant, Jenny Huth who I follow.

Playing time here would be readily available given the players we lose after this season. Strong incentive to pick us.

UVA has the big money from Serena Williams husband, and Ashley is very close to her family in nearby DC. But great to see we have made the finalist list. She might have resonated with Charmin and Berkeley. We'll see.

UVA already has three other recruits in the Top 100, so they are definitely writing the checks.

Charmin coached Team USA ... not sure who was on that team, but hopefully some recruiting prospects
