Toni Kokenis is taking a medical leave after sustaining 2 concussions last year, and will not be suiting up for Stanford next year. Alison Beebe tore her ACL again this summer and will also not be available for TVD this season.
All unfortunate news, and I feel bad for saying this, but lets capitalize bears!

Per TV in her LA visit. Concussions are scary stuff, and not just in football.

Tough break for the furd. Both players would have been big contributors for the card next season.

This is terrible for the two players. I hope both recover fully and get the most out of their Stanford educations.

Sad to hear - I was wondering what "mystery" illness was keeping Kokenis out of the lineup last year. Well said Stu - lets hope for speedy recoveries.

Very sad to see injuries prevent these young women from playing. I wish them both well on their recoveries and continued success with their studies.

I agree that this is sad news. I hate hearing of injuries to young people, especially head injuries.

Toni was always to one called on to play tough D on Layshia and made it difficult for her..especially last yr in Berkeley... It's sad to see players career end this way but at least she will have an education to fall back on..
