You mean Sweet 16? Have to beat Uconn to get to Elite 8.

Wow, some of you are already making plans for Albany. I think you have a horrible match up with the Shockers.

Tickets for the NCAA first- and second-round games are on sale through the Cal Athletic Ticket Office at the women’s basketball ticketing page on CalBears.com and through 800-GO BEARS (800-462-3277). Tickets will go on sale to season ticket holders at 6 p.m. tonight. Current season ticket holders will have an exclusive window to purchase until 12 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, when tickets will be opened to the general public. Because the NCAA tournament is not a home event, season ticket holders will not be guaranteed their same seats. All-session passes range from $25-40 for adults, with less expensive options for youth and seniors. Individual-session tickets become available Tuesday at noon PT on March 17.

The Shockers are 29-4 with bad November road losses to Eastern Washington and Florida Gulf Coast, then later 3-point road losses to Tennessee and Drake.
Their top 5 play over 31 minutes each. They're experienced (3 SR, 1 JR, 1 R-SO) but not big (5-8, 5-10, 5-10, 5-11, 6-2).
They average 10 steals per game!
They're shooting .435 from the field, .305 on threes, and .759 from the line.
Their stats are fairly balanced, though wing Alex Harden leads most categories.
This could be a match up like Long Beach State, except LBSU spreads their minutes among more players. In the Tennessee loss Wichita State got killed on the boards but had 13 steals and hit 9 of 20 threes. I'm guessing our keys will be taking care of the ball, which we did not do at LBSU, and defending the three.

One game at a time.
UConn could get upset before or by Cal - it happens. In the Men's March dance, the top seed wins the tournament only 13% of the time. To be honest, I'm not sure about WBB.

Looks like the Selection Committee wanted to give us a break in hosting the initial games, but then wanted to even things out by giving us the toughest opponents possible.
