I think Ionescu & Tudor moving up is a the product of so far a successful pre-summer AAU ball Cal stars have been playing. They went undefeated in the boo Williams tourney in Virginia and in last weekend iCalsparks's tourney in Socal. Noticed recently has added to her following list Aquira Decosta (then who hasn't) and also Kat Tudor. I don't know if that means they are interested in Kat Kudor now since she is blowing up in AAU ball.

Also on her following list from the Calspark team is Chrarisma Osborne 2019 a 5-6 PG! You heard it here first!!

Sorry was talking about coach Kai. Also just checked coachG & coach Charmin too and they both just recently added Tudor too!

Well everybody sees Tudor shooting the lights out but me. Which doesn't mean I am dug in my routine enough to saqy I am right. But it goes to show that you have to see a player play multiple times to get a grasp on how they are. Especially if they have poled poorly.

So eager to find out who Cal lands. Obviously Ionescu is key # 1, and any additional commits from Chou, Carrington, or Herbard would make us a elite eight/final four team come 2016-2017.

Calstars will be in Oregon for almost 2 weeks for a couple of tournament EOT shootout & Nike EOT late June thru July (great to be a Nike sponsored team). You can expect some wining & dining of this team by Oregon & OSU while they are there!! I Believe this is a tourney Bobbk attends occasionally.

I've been to 9 of the last 11 . Love it. But so much going on this year, not sure I'll make it.. A good tourney at St Mary's Stockton soon. Much smaller of course the EOT is huge with 20 or so different gyms. June 19/20 for St Mary's and yes on Father's Day.

Landing a perimeter shooter like Tudor could be a big help in unpacking opponent's defenses trying to stop Anigewe and Chen inside. In her videos, Natalie Chou appears to have a nice perimeter shot, too, as part of her all-around hoops repertoire.

Make sure you give us a full report when you return, bobbk.

Just saw recently coachG is now following 2 new high school players, 2016 Felicia Aiyeotan 6-9 from Philadephia rated #44 by prospectsnation and also 2017 recruit Destiny Littleton 5-9 G from The Bishop School ranked #22. I wouldn't think with 6-7 Chen Yue in the 2015 class, I can't see them getting a second tower.

In attempting to compare the 6'9" Aiyeotan's background to that of the 6'7" Chen Yue, one thing is clear: Aiyeotan appears new to basketball, while Yue grew-up with the game as both parents played the game at a high level internationally for China, and professionally in China. Based on recruiting service evaluations, Aiyeotan sounds very athletic and is learning the game. Yue's also athletic, and her hoops savvy and game are developing well with an apparent high upside.

I've read Sedona Prince 6'7" #4 2018 is already ahead of 6'9" Aiyeotan and 6'9" Mulkey.

Aiyeotan attends same school as '14 recruit Yacine Diop so LG probably knows the coaches.

PN did an update on 6'3" Celeste West recently: "According to her father, Charles, Arizona, Cal, Duke, Maryland, South Carolina, UCLA, USC and Washington all have made contact in recently." Interesting no mention of Stanford in there. Wonder if they're no longer in the mix. West is #32 by BS and #51 by PN. Might be a Talia Caldwell level player at this point with potential to improve. We've been involved with her for a long time. Ionescu plus Hebard and/or West would be an excellent class. I'm loving the positive rumors about Sabrina.

I want to see Chou come to Cal so that she can team with Yue, communicate with each other in Chinese on the court, and drive other teams crazy. Maybe the team could schedule a summer trip to China in the future.

If Chou speaks Mandarin. I assume that's what Chen speaks in Beijing.

Mandarin is the predominant dialect spoken in Beijing.

It is possible that Chou is American born like my kids and doesn't speak a lick of Chinese.

Maybe she speaks Texan.

It appears Natalie's parents came to this country originally as students. So Natalie was born in the US--she has to be a US citizen to represent the USA, doesn't she? However, wvitbear, having spent her life in Texas, I have to believe she is "Texan", although she reportedly visits her parents' family in Beijing every summer.

When I first came to California, we lived in Berkeley on Vine street not too far from Shattuck. One day while in line at Co-op, I hear a voice with a southern accident, saying to me, del you have any relatives in /Arkansas.. I look around but the checker is Asian, so I wonder who said that. Then he opens his mouth and I realize I have a good old boy from Arkansas who happens to be Chinese background. He was raised there and picked up the local speech pattern. And I wondered if it could happen to Natalie. If so,*maybe I could translate.

One of my friends at Cal was a chinese guy from Marks Mississippi. He definitely had that southern slang down.

That was a Korean, Henry Cho, who went to University of Tennessee.

Was Cho on the history channel when they did each state and had the inhabitants talk about their state. There was an asian fellow who had quite an accent.

I never saw that show so I don't know, but here's his pic. He was pretty funny.

Might be but he was wearing something like a plaid shirt that made him look more like a local. My gut feeling is that is not him.

Bobbk- I'll give you what I have. Tournament is 19,20,21. Starts Friday at about 10:00 at Presentation Middle School but then transfers to St. Marys at 5 where the remainder of the games will be played. Teams participating are, SMB, Salesian, E. Grove, South Medford, Modesto Christian, Modesto Magic, St Francis, Vanden, Clovis West and Heritage. Will give you more when I have it.

Thanks will card but now Fathers Day is a weekend for me. So I will be going to Oregon for the EOT.

SMS Micole Cayton to Nebraska

Cayton is ranked #61 by ASGR for 2016. Seemed like she wasn't getting much love from West Coast/Pac-12 schools, especially early on, so she's off to Nebraska! Too bad. But seems like she could do well there like fellow Cali-Husker Tierra Laudermill, another athletic guard that West Coast programs had mixed feelings about.

I did go the the St Mary's tourney today for several hours. Loved young Moore from Salesian. So quick, drives so well and passes even better.

Hey, bobbk, what's going on with Stanford's recruiting? I let me subscription to the bootleg expire :-/

Must be exciting to see Carrington shoot up to #14 in the PN rankings, as I recall she was a top Stanford target.

A player I mentioned Nadia Fingall 6'3" from Florida (IIRC, she had a Stanford "offer" and said it was a dream school of hers) is now just inside the top 40 in both PN and HG rankings.

The recent PN update on Celeste West didn't mention Stanford, but not sure if it was a complete list or just recent suitors.
