Just saw the boxscore of the game with Layshia Clarendon vs Britney Boyd
Boyd got 26 minutes in the game so they were pretty even in minutes
Layshia had a great game, but Britney held her own...

A huge difference in their game is three point shooting...Layshia was 2-3 from the arc, Boyd did not take a 3, but is shooting just 17% from that distance

Somehow, she has to pick-up an outside shot if she plans to stay in the WNBA. Her other skills will not compensate

She would certainly benefit from improving her outside shot, but so far it seems she's a good bet to stay in the league and at least find a role with the game she's got right now. Have you watched the games? The team generally plays better when she's on the floor, and she's a good fit for the way Laimbeer likes to play - though ironically, because the whole team's only shooting 31% from 3pt range, Boyd might be more effective if other 3pt shooters could compensate for her more.

Their backcourt leader (though liable to change with the return of Epiphany Prince) in min. and 3pt attempts, Sugar Rodgers only hits at 29%. For context, the entire league avg is 32.7% and only two teams shoot over that. I think there are a few areas Boyd needs to keep improving on, and nothing is a lock especially with the tight roster space and changing needs of specific teams, but so far it looks like she's not in much danger of being out of the WNBA because of her 3pt shooting, at least any time soon.

Interestingly -- well, maybe more shockingly -- on the league leader board for 3pt shooting % this season, the player just ahead of Boyd is Elena Delle Donne.... (She does have a few other things working for her though!)

Boyd has played very well -- I think she will be in the league for a long time, barring disaster. On the right team, she could be a starting point guard; if she makes better decisions and shoots threes more consistently, she could start for anyone.
