That's a good fit. I actually saw someone posted that her final 2 was CAL and OSU earlier in the morning (they also mentioned Ionescu's Final 5 being CAL, Oregon State, Oregon, UCLA and Texas (?). Not sure if true or not.

What makes her a better fit there ..than at Cal? Is it coaching or is it her future teammates or is it the education? Cal needs perimeter shooting where as OSU has a number of 3pt shooters now! Just curious why people think OSU is a better fit than Cal.

I'm wondering about OSU being a better fit. Is she challenged academically? Loves Beavers? Doesn't know that Cal WBB is a quality program that goes nicely with a top-rated academic program? Wants to ditch mom? Orange and black looks good on her? Please explain.

Could be we were a "johnny come lately". Don't think we were as interested in Kat until SMS won State and then she and Calstars went berserk over the summer. Calstars spends a couple of weeks in Beaver and Eugene town each summer in tournaments the last couple of years. Think she was one of the few Pac-12 teams to offer her early too.

I think you are right OBear. Plus I do think she fits into their system very well. OSU's coach may be the best coach in the Pac 12.

Msybe you can stop off at kelly Sopak's Albany state farm insurance office for some inside information! I think he might be originally from state of Oregon too! Not that it should influence Kat or Ionescu's decision.

We just lost a good one. We are going to regret this one for years to come. We needed a special shooter. Plus she has been improving, she would of kept improving under our coach. I hope we can at least get two solid recruits. Also, we should never loose to top recruit to Oregon State. What is next, San Jose State.

Sorry I don't regret it...if she chooses not to come here. I will miss her but you can't control where she goes. If she is not comfortable not coming here, it's her loss.

No doubt he's very good but it's hard for me, personally, to give that honor to anyone other than TVD.

I was not surprised by Kats decision I thought it was going to come down to OSU, Nebraska, Iowa one of those only because Cal was news to me; the first I heard of Coach G looking at her was from y'all mentioning it maybe five/six months ago. I personally saw Coach Rueck at a St Mary's game last year and this past season so no telling how long he has been pursuing Kat. Gibson just graduated from OSU and she also went to SMS and played on Cal Stars...and with Cal Stars being in OR too that week there is a lot of inner connection so it sounds like she felt more comfortable there. Although I would've liked to see her play for Cal I'm happy for her (she worked hard improving her shooting every year) she is a good fit for them too, wish her well...
Now I'm concerned about us landing Sabrina!

Does Tudor's selection of OSU have any effect on DeCosta's decision? Is Cal still pursuing her?

Tudor going to OSU can't hurt them with DeCosta but it's hardly a fatal blow to Cal.

As for Tudor going to OSU, hard to work up any outrage there. They won the Pac and handily beat Cal when it counted and they were on her earlier.

Simply a matter of priortizing recruits. Some might think she's better than Cal's other targets but most don't, as good as she is.

Besides Decosta is at a different level than Tudor. Decosta is the top ranked 2018 player and will most likely be pursued by all of the elite schools .i.e., UConn, ND, Duke, Louisville, Maryland, & etc. I would guess OSU would be the least of our competition......

Many players prefer to go where they know they're a top recruit and not just viewed as a complementary player. My guess, thought I don't know, is that Oregon State made it clear that they weren't looking to recruit over Tudor but rather to recruit around her.

Kelly Sopak, by the way, is from Tacoma, I think.

@Obear073- and add to the list teams like South Carolina...USC is inquiring too, she may be interested in staying in the Pac 12 who knows she's got several years to think about and in the mean time she needs to continue working on her shot and just getting better all-around...Decosta's potential is through the roof!

For you and GoCal, he/she never said that OSU was a better fit than Cal. Bearsinsocal just said that OSU was a good fit. It also could have been a good fit at Cal.
