I guess we are not going to land a wing year. She was our last hope. We are solid on that position any ways. Celeste West will save this class. I hope we can still get one of the two top guards we are recruiting. At least she went with a pac 12 team. The pac 12 will be very strong in the up coming years.

I guess that means Val is no longer visiting or did she?

She hasn't and probably won't now.

I, for one, really liked her as a player, but in respect to the players Cal already had her skill set was redundant.

s
I've only seen her twice but imo she has better offensive skills than the Cal players coming out of high school. She (6-0)could finish at the hoop and had a nice short range jump shot.

The redundancy argument seems valid: Cowling and Ma'ane, as well as potentially Range and Davidson, no?

The redundancy is valid. All I'm saying that Val's offensive skills, at least at the high school level was more developed. How it plays out in college will be another question.

Valerie Higgins. Originally she was going to visit Cal in the fall but now that she has verbal to U$C ...not likely to visit now. This year she played AAU ball with Ionescu.

She played on Nike EYBL Cal Stars (2015 National Champs) with Ionescu, she attends Chaminade HS (SoCal), 6'1 ESPN Ranked Top 20 Class of 2016. UCLA was on her list I thought she was going to land there...

I've got no inside/personal knowledge whatsoever about recruiting (Valerie's or others'), but tweets and press had indicated that UCLA was no longer on her list as of-- I dunno-- maybe the last several months. Evidently her other finalists were Oregon, Cal, Duke, Louisville and Oregon State.

I would totally agree with that.
