My nerves are shot to HELL...some very, very good high school prospects and teams playing. Past few years Nike TOC has been pretty good but this years Joe Smith Division (elite bracket) is no joke...I wish I could be there to see the best West, East and down South teams play, this tournament is definitely worth the price of admission. Go Rams! (St Mary's, Stockton). The Mike Desper bracket will not be a cake-walk either rooting for West Campus and Sacramento HS to do well.

Nice write up Clay, you have me more on edge! Lol

I'll probably be tweeting some while I'm there ... @ClayKallam.

New sites, though -- after all these years, I knew where everything was, but now we're in Gilbert instead of Chandler. The main hotel is still in Phoenix, though ...

Clay-I was hoping for reputable streaming access but I see on NorCal Preps blog only Ball Access doing it? With all that media there you would think Nike would sponsor streaming or have the Cube doing it they do for EYBL Nationals! I have a DMV family (Next Sports Phenom) forum that I'm in and they gave bad reviews about Ball Access (sketchy!) so guess I have to rely on you and SMS FB Moderator for quick updates

Joe Smith Division (page 4) semi-finals on Monday @ 4pm: Archbishop Mitty-San Jose vs #1 ranked St Marys-Stockton

http://www.niketournamentofchampions.com/events/pdfs/results8.pdf

This appears to be the strongest division with nationally ranked #1 St. Marys-Stockton, #2 Riverdale Baptist (MD), #3 Centennial (NV), #5- Chaminade (CA) & #20 Our Lady of Good Counsel (MD) among its sixteen teams. Mitty defeated Miami County Day by one point yesterday and upset the #20 team today from Maryland by two points. Our Lady of Good Counsel defeated Mater Dei-Santa Ana yesterday by eight points...

As I stated on my post regarding the Monarchs, this team has nine solid players averaging between 5.5-10.8 points per game. It's hard to know which player to defend...I'm certain that St Marys of Stockton will be handle AM since they haven't had a close game yet, but I'm still proud of this young San Jose team with only a single senior. This should be a great experience for 'em. The Monarchs average approximately seven treys per game but might have to hit a dozen triples to pull off such an upset. Of course, that's if Mitty can get the ball up the court. In their initial two wins here, SMS has forced 30 turnovers per contest w/ their fullcourt press

Is there any chance that the semis or finals will be on tv or on-line?

PS-Pinewood defeated Bishop O'Dowd, 69-64, in OT at the Presentation Tourney in San Jose, yesterday.

FINAL SCORE: St Marys Rams 86, Archbishop Mitty Monarchs 73.

Wow-the St Mary's press was the difference as the young Mitty team turned the ball over 25 times. The soph PG Karisma Ortiz and junior Maddy Holland coughed it up 9 & 7x, respectively. The Monarchs came to play, however. AM shot 55% from the field (including 10-20 on treys) overall and 73% on free throws. Seven of the nine regulars shot at least 50% from the floor vs SMS. Mitty's 6-2 post, Tahlia Garza, fouled out against soph 6-2 phenom, Aquira DeCosta, but scored a dozen points (6 for 9 from the floor)...DeCosta scored 27 points. Mighty SMS was outrebounded by a dozen by AM, too.

St Mary's closest game in this tournament was a 30 point victory before tonight's 13 point win. The Monarchs played by far the most competitive game against the Rams this season so far. Congrats to St Marys-Stockton & Mitty-San Jose!!

Thanks Schroeder for the summary and stat link...I had my daughter constantly checking for tweet updates from Clay (thanks Clay!) and SMS as I drove to the bay area to watch Cal Women's game-Lol
One more to go and its the biggest game against a great team. Thought we were going to meet up with Riverdale Baptist at Iolani Classic last season in the champ game but they didn't get that far. GO Rams!

Would we ever recruit Naje Murray? Great fundamentals, solid 3.5/4 star guard from the #1 team in the country. We are thin at guard and I really like her game.... wonder who is recruiting her.

I know she has offers from San Jose state and Boise St. It seems the head coaches of Stanford, USC, Lousiville, and Maryland are down at the tourney too, along with coach Kai and Jeff.

She might well be the quickest player on the team as well. Really good shooter.

Also --------- St Mary's wins the NTOC 75 to 70 against Riverdale Baptist. DeCosta named MVP. Her and McCole Cayton on All turn. Team

Nike TOC!!! Wow, long time coming...YES, FINALLY!!-GO RAMS! I'm so proud of these young ladies, I'm especially happy for the seniors great way to send them off with a win. I was telling someone today it seems like yesterday I remember them being in 6th/7th grade playing AAU ball for Stockton Mavericks and now they are juniors and seniors off to D1 schools.

P.S. Willtalk- I just found out who you are didn't realize in years past when I would be at SMS games I was sitting right next you-I'll introduce myself the next time, which will be MLK tourney.

@Schroeder71- link me up with the championship game stats and/or article-thanks!
