That was thrilling and torturous. That last minute was brutal, but they gutted out the win. Canada got some real cheap calls that made a big difference. She fouled Davidson out and got critical FTs on total BS call on Range where there was maybe even zero contact, and if there was it was initiated by her going off balance into traffic. Those should have been two non calls that almost decided the game.

Cowling played a great game, but why back off of Canada at end of regulation and let her shoot the three? Give her the drive, we were up by 3!!!

IMHO the bad officiating permitting excessively rough play was a factor. Anyone who doesn't think Gabby is essential should note we were up by 16, then she went out and returned seriously hobbled with a bad ankle.

Oh yes! What a display of toughness!

I was disappointed only in the number of offensive rebounds we gave up (28), too many of which led to putbacks with a foul. And a few lapses like hoisting up threes early in the shot clock while trying to hang onto a lead. But our inside performance was just dominant - Kristine, Courtney, and Nina just killed it in the paint, Kayla had a nice game, and Asha ran the show well. On the Bruin's side Canada was unstoppable - layup after layup and an arching NBA three at the buzzer which sent the game into the first OT.

Cal was 30 points better than UCLA.
But - hard to win when you have no clue how to rebound.
Feet set in clay. Never look where the ball is going.
This is on the coaches.

Even the Pros have a hard time fouling. Remember Memphis in game 3 of the playoffs vs Warriors. Happens all the time.

I was thinking the same thing, we could use her down the stretch for defense...she could afford to foul-game management.
