For those that missed it in the Cammon thread, the hiring of Wendale Farrow is official.

Seems like a good hire. He's a young (29?), personable guy with a strong recruiting rep and is reputed to be respected for his X's and O's for a young coach. As a recruiting assistant, he played a role in UCLA's great 2014 class and in Vandy's top SEC class in his year there.

He sounds pretty much like a no-brainer excellent hire. I believe you mean (technically) UCLA's 2014 class, and it looks like he indeed was at UCLA when those girls were recruited and signed. UCLA's 2013 class was just one of the twin guards from St. Mary's in Arizona + that 6'9" girl from Minnesota who hasn't played for the Bruins and kinda seems to have gone MIA.

Not sure about the timing, but Vanderbilt did signed Kayla Overbeck, an undersized but super strong 6'1" power forward ranked top 100 from SoCal. Perhaps it was his connections to SoCal that help sign her (she was ranked top 50 when she committed), as it was the first time in recent memory Vanderbilt signed a ranked Cali girl.

Hopefully he can assemble a MONSTER 2018 class! The top local 5 stars, Aquira DeCosta, McKenzie Forbes, & Kiara Jefferson are DEFINITELY key. I think we might have a decent shot at DeCosta, Forbes had a good early visit, and Jefferson plays club ball with Pico Wilburn who coached AGL & Dev and is also Devanei's godfather who walked with her at Cal on senior night.

Then, there are a pair @ Mater Dei and a pair @ Brea Olinda making noise. And although I think 6'6" Shayley Harris might land at Stanford, her teammate (w/ JBS and next year for HS, too) 6'3" Kassidy DeLapp quietly rose to #5 in NorCal and already has a UW offer. Then Arizona has 3 in PN's top 45 (Bickle #11 by HG).
