Not sure but Forbes might have been at the volleyball game on Sat. Saw most of the team there and sat near Mikayla's parent. Mikayla came over with a guest and introduced to parent. Don't know for sure though.

Also on Chris Roemer's twitter, Evina Westbrook down to 6 teams. Only Pac-12 schools are SC & OSU plus Maryland, Tenn, ND, and some other school with a 'C' which I don't recognize the logo.

As I have mentioned before, don"t forget Caitlin Bickle a 6'1" forward from Arizona and is a top 25 recruit who plays along with Taylor Chavez, a 5,9" point guard on the same AAU team as Forbes. Could potentially be an out standing class if we could land all of these.

The AZ select twitter mentioned that Bickle, Forbes, and Chavez all have offers from Cal.

I think that was McKenzie and her brother Mason. The entire Cal WBB including 4 coaches were at Saturday night's VB game.
Mikayla walked by me with both Forbes - did not know who they were until I read OBear073's post.
Great VB game, Cal came back down 2 sets to 0 to win the match

Forbes is the real deal. She can play 1 through 4. I've seen her play in HS and AAU.

I really liked Forbes at USA Basketball. She's not a superstar, but she'll be a solid player.

How tall is she? She really didn't seem big or tall to me. Wondering if she could play the 4 in college.

She is listed at 6".

I agree with you Clay as I have seen her play HS b-ball the last few years (not with her AAU team) and she's getting better every year. Great kid, wondering if she's interested in staying local? My only reservation just from what I've observed, is the fit...is she a Bear? Hey, she's only a junior and this year she will probably kick it up a notch even more, so we'll see...

P.S. I've been close enough to her to see she's definitely 6ft, she may have even grown over the summer...

Judging by Coach G's tweet- all 4 coaches went for a home visit to McKenzie Forbes home. Is that normal to have everyone attend? Looks like they are going hard for her. Fingers crossed.

Twitter has revolutionized how I follow news, especially during election season. I'm incredibly thankful for having it as a resource. I won't lie though, it creeps me out at times. You discover things like this regularly.

Anyways- I hope all went well on the visit. Fingers crossed that Forbes and many of the other great 18ers we are recruiting become Golden Bears!

Acosta, Forbes, Jefferson and Harris are the four top players in Northern Cal for the 2018 class. All are Valley gills although Schroeder will tell you they don't compare to Central Coast players. All are 5 star recruits. You have got a center, a power forward, a small forward and a guard. Although you might call Acosta a wing too. You'd have a pretty formidable class if you could get that group. I don't think West campus and Harris's teams will be playing in the Jamboree but St. Mary's of Stockton is listed. Don't know about Folsom.

..can Forbes consistently hit the outside shot because we need additional perimeter shooters.

My understanding( and I have not seen her play) is that she is a pretty good outside shot. Hope to see this winter if they come to the Bay Area.

Folsom will be in the Jamboree -- West Campus is traveling to the Naples Holiday Shootout in Florida, which will be a good test. The game is different without a shot clock, and with different refs. Unfortunately Paul VI, the likely preseason No. 1, isn't playing in Naples.

So Acosta and Fiorbes will be there. Will mitty be there?

Additional info. Neither Cal commits Kiana Smith (Troy) nor Alasia Styles (La Jolla Day) will be at the Jamboree. Troy will be in Florida and maybe she will play againstWest Campus. LaJolla country Day won't be there either but they will play on MLK at St. Mary's of Stockton against Mitty. Great matchup. Will Schroeder leave the confines of the Central Coast to see a really good game on a neutral court? I might be tempted to go to see this one.

Side Note- Wait! Clay, it looks like the DMV is going to be 1 or 2 pre-season?! Going to be interesting to see how NCA or Riverdale do this season...DMV top programs lost a lot to graduation but they are reloading and no telling where the Forestville girls land/pick a new high-school.

The SJS has a strong c/o 2018 but for me as of right now I'm comefortable with only two out of the four being a Bear. I'll be hitting up quite a few more games this season to take another look at the other two but what do I know I'm not a scout/evaluator, just a fan! Lol

I am looking forward to MLK at SMS that is a great match-up but I think Mitty will pull it off...if the girls are on their game Mitty has better shooters, but I belive the game is going to be close.

Riverdale should be very good again this year, and National Christian Academy also should be strong. Paul VI picked up Honesty Grayson, an elite player, and look for Riverdale Baptist to load up as well.

The rules are different in every state, and if you play within the rules of your particular state, not much else can be said.

Mitty should be California’s best, though Poly and La Jolla Country Day aren't far behind. I think what separates Mitty and Poly is their depth, and Mitty is still relatively young.

It's hard enough to predict the NFL before the season starts, and high school girls basketball is even more difficult. It’s like throwing darts at the wall, and hoping to hit a jackpot. If that makes any sense…

^^^^I'm quite sure my DMV forum friends will be happy to see some of their teams in the Top 10. I'm assuming Duncanville (still don't understand their thinking of no need to leave the state of TX) will start off on top, they didn't lose that many pieces to graduation. CA is wide open this season (quite a few teams lost a lot of talent to graduation) going to be interesting to see who are the last teams standing/winning in their divisions and Open. NorCal I can see a couple team taking Open State and only 1 in SoCal (Poly) but there could be an upset...
