Cal is picked sixth even though they return everyone except transfer Gabby Green. They also add three freshmen that should contribute, too.

It's a coaches poll. So the other coaches are basically calling Lindsay out after last year. Time to rise to the challenge.

It's a writer's poll, not a coaches poll. Look at the vote totals. And it obviously has to do with the incredible depth in the league and Cal's finish last year rather than a call-out of Lindsay.

The title says coaches poll. Is that mislabeled?

I have verified that it is a coaches poll. You can't vote for your own team. Each coach then ranks the remaining teams 1-11. First place vote awards 11 points, second place 10 points etc.

My mistake. Didn't realize the points based on equivalent values rather than votes because there are far more points than there are coaches.

We were 10th last year, 2 games out of 12th (last) place. 6th place looks about right for this year. Actually the league is fairly well balance. Not much difference from 1-12 if the new coaches for the teams at the bottom are effective. We took a huge drop last year (from being one of the best to become one of the worst). This could happen to some of the teams at the top this year.
