Pearbear always does a nice job.

I really like the starting 5. If the exhibition game is any indication of what is to come, I can see Brown and Cayton coming in early and West spelling Anigwe. Mosley will get less time and Chen and Waters will get garbage time if lucky. Of course, LG will play the subs as much as possible early in the season but barring injury, the rotation will solidify quickly.

If we are going to live off of defense, including points off of turnovers from constant pressing and trapping, this would be a good year to use 9-10 people throughout the season for maximum energy and intensity. Mo could be especially valuable in that respect.

Thanks for reading everyone! I really need to focus on something fun, and basketball season is arriving just in time!

This is the most depth Cal has had for a while. Playing freshmen means you deal with inconsistency, of course, but in terms of talent, the Bears can go 9 deep on a regular basis without much drop off in size, athleticism, or quickness on defense. Offense is another matter. If Brown and West can be scorers right away, that would make a huge difference.

GO BEARS!

Very good point. I underestimated Mo's value. She should be a big part of the 9 person rotation that pressures constantly. That would be fun to see especially if the refs allow good defense.

Lindsay will have the benefit of quality depth with the addition of the newcomers to expand her rotations.
