"Fatou Samb, one of the most improved prospects in the 2020 class and a summer standout Cy-Fair Premier, is nearing her decision. The 6-4 post from Houston, Texas, will decide between her three finalists Cal, Harvard and Northwestern.

The four-star post will fill an immediate need for all three programs."

Samb eliminated Michigan, Wake Forest, and Rice, while adding Northwestern from her previous list of finalists.

Let's hope our strong academics and the opportunity to compete in the toughest WBB conference are enough to attract this talented post player.

Fingers crossed.

I think it is great that Charmin and April are getting visits and making the final group for so many top players. That is progress. But obviously the competition is very tough, and it is hard to climb off the floor when you are down there. The fallback would be finding some international players and a grad transfer or two in this initial class, like the men's team has had to do. But let's hope we can get that initial key commit who can then help us attract some others.

Agree on the promise and progress the Bears appear to be showing with top recruits, but Charmin must land them to make a difference on the floor.

It's tough to land premier players when the Cal women are picked 11th. The Cal men are picked last and just landed a local three star wing from BOD.

To be honest, I cannot remember any time as a Cal fan when both basketball teams were picked near the bottom
simultaneously. It could be reminiscent of the journey of the football program after HC Tom Holmoe...I hope not.

Unfortunately, it accurately reflect how far the two programs have fallen in a relatively short span of time.

Blame Mike Williams.

He is the one who hired "the Guy Mike Williams Hired as MBB coach" and gave a comfy package to LG which led to her being distracted by a bunch of things unrelated to basketball rather recruiting quality players.

I am hopeful that Coach Fox and Coach Smith will get things back on track within a year or two.

Go Bears!
