The new bleachers are not bad. They are behind the left field fence where they were before they were moved to right-center. There are about 100 of us here, which is not bad for a Friday game.

Earlier in the 6th Az had 3 hits, and only by throwing out a runner at home did we avoid trailing by now.

Was in the bleachers too. Lots of room to stretch out..but reminds me of the old candlestick bleachers with the wind blowing...but of course not as bad as the 'stick'. Cal was very luck ..don't think they had one solid hit ..unlike AZ who hits were smashed.

Yes: a passed ball is ruled the "fault" of the catcher, and a wild pitch ruled the "fault" of the pitcher. Basically, the passed ball is like an error on the catcher--a pitch gets by her that she should block or catch.

The bats couldn't get it going today. They did have one solid contact; Frani hit the ball hard to left, but the Arizona outfielder made a great catch to rob her of a hit.

But the defense! Jace made a dynamite play at 2nd almost on the grass to rob AZ of a hit. And the play at the plate, Jamia's throw to the catcher and a great tag. The defense won that for them. And Jolene's 10 K's didn't hurt, either.
