Just from first glance at Cal's bracket, Cal has to be viewed as a favorite finishing in top 2. The Bears had the highest team score from the regionals. Florida is awaiting whether Trinity Thomas will be available. Cal only lost to LSU because of SEC homecooking officiating when they participated in the Bayou Classic meet

You don't wanna be in the other bracket ... Oklahoma, Utah and UCLA. That's gonna be a battle there.

The big question is whether Thomas will compete for Florida. We can hope Florida repeats its errors of April 2 - but, certainly can't count on it. But, just like yesterday, Cal only needs to finish in the top two.

Can't disagree with Cal's vault grade. How does Cal get that to a C+ or B-? That would put less pressure on being perfect on the other events.

I disagree with UCLA being touted as the favorite in their bracket. Oklahoma is still champ and putting huge numbers all season. Gotta think they secure one of the two spots. UCLA hasn't beaten Utah this season. Grace McCallum is practicing. Will she be in the rotation. Utah has done well without her. But she might be the difference in getting Utah through to the finals.

Trinity Thomas was on bars today during practice. Probably be seeing her in the rotation tomorrow . She didnt practice any of the other 3 events. So maybe she will just do bars. All the other events are heavy leg events so leg/foot might not be ready for that.

Mya Lauzon is only in 3 rotations. Looks like pretty much Cal's same rotation from the Regionals (and most of the season) if it ain't broke .. why fix it! Although Vault might need fixing Stick them landings!

Alot to look forward to next season. Returning are All Arounders Andi Li, Maddie Williams, and eMjae Frazier. Mya Lauzon is a rockstar in the 3 routines she does. Gabby, Ella, Casey Brown all had good moments and should only improve. Let's see what Miki Aderinto and Jayden Silves can bring to the mix. They bringing in two big time recruits and will have a scholarship that could go to a graduate transfer. Maybe a vault specialist?

Maya Green did not participate this season so she likely can return or transfer. Who is coaching the uneven parallel bars (new male coach?). Last season-it was Cal's top event consistently. Was Janette McDonald the coach last season? Bears also graduated or transferred seven team members several of which excelled on the uneven bar: Maya Bordas was AA in the event, Nina Schank, Emi Watterson & Kyana George were ranked in the event.

Mya Lauzon was the top scorer for Cal in all three of her events again today. She actually tied for 1st on floor exercise with eMjae Frazier. The event that she did not participate in had the two specialists fall. Gabby Perea actually did sub-par in all three of her events this afternoon. Ella Cesario also fell off of the uneven bars. Bears were in perfect position to finish in the top two but flat out choked. Many gymnasts did not perform up to par (their usual standard).

Mya Lauzon (soph), Maddie Williams (soph) & eMjae Frazier (frosh) ended the season are Cal's top gymnasts, surpassing Andi Li who was supposed to be the best. Cal improved on floor exercise & balance beam but declined in uneven bars and stayed bad in the vault.

New recruit, Kyen Mayhew, sounds as if she will be a star as a freshman possibly replacing Nevaeh DeSouza.
