Can't believe it but she was only a freshmen & also from Mitty. Wow 23 hr in the Big 10 that's smoking hot. She was a 2nd basement for Indiana. She listed as playing travel ball with Warrior Academy. CF are you familiar with this Warrior Academy?Ccajon2 said:

This former CCS player was a standout last season. What high school in San Jose did she attend?

I'm not sure if Kern played with either of the 2023 Cal commits but it looks like she was originally with the Suncats so she might have been a former teammate of Elon Butler and/or Samantha Rocha while there.

Did CS offer coming out of High School? Any reason to think she might look at Cal as a transfer school?
BVM Sports has speculated that there are 5 potential landing spots for Taryn Kern. This is their ranking of schools:
1. Stanford
2. UCLA
3. California
One team that may want some revenge on the Sooners is California. The Golden Bears had a successful season this spring, making it to the Norman regional final where they were eliminated by Oklahoma. With a 35-21-1 record and receiving a vote in the final top 25 poll, Cal could certainly be considered a team on the rise next season.
California also has an ace in the hole in the fact that the team is located in Kern's home state and that it has her high school running mate on the team as well. Golden Bears freshman infielder Elon Butler played 54 games with 50 starts this season after playing for the Monarchs alongside Kern. If Cal can add the slugger, perhaps it could avenge its loss to Oklahoma this season.
