Gabriel Rodriquez from Great Oak (SS) has committed to Cal. In 2023 made finals in the 1600 but didn't place. Best times 4:12.16 in the 1600 & 1:51.79 in the 800. Also a member of the traditional strong XC team which undoubtedly we need after the NCAA showing !

I have a freshman out named Francisco Rodriguez, but no relation and it's a common last name. He ran 25:31 for 8K at the Santa Clara Broncos XC Invite, a fast course. That's not bad, but I would think he would need to be 25-low to get a walk-on offer at Cal. His PRs are 4:26 (1600) and 9:27 (3200) and he's from Highland Park. Great kid, I am sure if he hits the times the Cal staff would like him.

Also have a sophomore named Morgan Sinnock who ran 4:40 as a high school sophomore and quit running, then started again this year. He could be interesting as his developmental ceiling could be really high.

Another outstanding sprinter from Texas, Wazell Wright. Best last year 2023 was 10.45 (100) & 21.43 (200).
Also Brandon CHeeks II from the San Diego section.Looks like a LJ'er, TJ'er & high jumper.
