Hope Cal finishes at least 2nd this year. That would mean either a national championship or runner-up for Durden every year since 2011.

2010 Cal was 2nd to TX. One of these days I'll look up to see if any school had done equal or better in any sport. 15 consecutive seasons 1st or 2nd in NCAA championships.

Diving: Vavitsas in A final & Thai in B final.
Just two years ago, who would have thought Cal could have this result in diving? Congrats to the diving coach Pei Lin!

In total, Cal has 7 Bears in A finals, and 4 in B finals

Josh Thai finishes 2nd in the consolation final (10th overall), improving on his 14th place finish from last year.

Congratulations!!!

As expected, Lasco won and broke the record for 200 back.

New school record for Alexy in the 100 free! 40.59 for third place. Seeliger and Jensen also score.

with four events to go, it does not look like Florida has many chances to score points.
Cal leads after the 100 Free 345.5 to 342. ASU is at418.5. Indiana is well back in 4th at 266

100 Breast: Cal has 1 A and Florida has 1B
200 Fly: Cal has 2As and Florida has none
Platform Diving: Cal has 1A and 1B and Florida has none
400 Free Relay: Florida is seeded 2d and Cal 6th.

and with just diving and a relay to go: ASU 483.5, Cal 391.5, Florida 344. Second seems assured even if Cal DQ's the relay and Florida wins. assuming Cal gets a few points in diving.

and with the relay left:
ASU 483.5
Cal 412.5
Indiana 358
Florida 344

and just missing out on second in the relay (0.25 second) - final results
ASU 523.5
Cal 444.5
Florida 378 (2d in the relay)
Indiana 376 (9th in the relay)

No titles but it's still a very good season for both the mens and womens teams. Olympic trials are next.

Over the last two years, joining too late for the recruiting cycles, the womens have added only 4 or 5 freshmen while losing 7 important members (Ivey, Wilson, Neuman, Rajic, Spitz, Garcia, Davidson). Yet they still finished 11th while the 2021 team finished 8th. Congrats to the remaining Bears!

Once the Olympic games are over, the mens will have a full team. I hope Marchand will come back to the NCAA for a rematch as he makes the competition more exciting.

Bowman is the new head coach at Texas (not an April Fool's joke).

If all of his key swimmers transfer to follow him, that makes for a very interesting 2025 NCAA meet - Texas back in the mix?

I doubt Marchand will swim collegiately again, but if the Hungarians and Kharun transfer to join Bowman, Texas will be a co-favorite with Cal and Texas.
