Cal's defense received praise from the announcers.
Cal was outshot 19-6 - the announcers said it was the most shots Cal had faced this year. Cal was credited with 5 saves - although none appeared particularly difficult.
Cal had only on shot on goal - and it was a beauty! The other goal was a Duke own goal in the second minute.
Duke had 10 corners to Cal's 3! 7 of Duke's corners were in the second half

The Bears just played tough and except for a ten minute period between 15 and 25 minutes in the second half, didn't face a lot of pressure. Duke still had several chances but Cal rose to the occasion. Cal also had several chances for a third goal on some long counterattacks, but nothing really sustained.

Bears face Clemson on Thursday in Cary just down the road from Durham, so they likely will be staying in North Carolina for a few more days.
