"We believe the 2025 class is one of the top classes in the country," Spencer said. "We have four exceptional athletes coming in that are going to make an impact on our program from day one. They are all extremely athletic, competitive, and have high academics. They come from great families and fit the mold in all aspects of what it means to be a Bear. The future of Cal softball is going to be very bright. Go Bears!"

Anyone see some of fall ball, very interested to hear how pitching looked. This seems to be the one area holding Cal back and I am curious to see how they solve it. I know Spencer feels like having a staff approach is key. I still would have like to see a shutdown or semi-shutdown pitcher we could go to.

I agree that our pitching and defense have been the constant weaknesses of the team. I don't see that changing this season, either.

It appears Cal has picked up an additional 2025 recruit, Sophia Rolon.

She's a slap hitter who plays for the storied OC BatBusters program. She's attends Mater Dei.

I watched some highlites of her slapping the ball. She is listed as 5-5 and also as 5-1. I hope that she is not the latter. GO BEARS!

In a 7-6 loss Tuesday Nina Peyton-Johson went 3 for 4 with 3 homeruns and 5 rbi.

Talk about being the team offense!

Peyton-Johnson might be having one of the most impressive starts to a season i've seen for Sierra Canyon.

7 games played
6 homeruns
5 doubles and 2 triples
19 RBI
.680 Batting Average and a 2.560 OPS.

The OC Batbusters signee looks like she'll bring a ton of power to Berkeley.

McGowan looks to be leading Poway to another section title.

I'm guessing most of the top tier pitchers have signed. Are there any pitchers that are unsigned for 2025 or we will have to rely on the portal? We definitely have to go for pitching help. Any of our 2025 signees could help our pitching for next year.

McGowan was rated a top-15 recruit nationally and earned California State Player of the Year honors as a sophomore. Needless to say, I think she's going to be make a big difference.

Sophie Everett and Mya McGowan have 7 & 6 HRs, respectively. It appears that the 2025 class will continue Cal's prolific home run hitting. Jade Diaz is the fourth member of the recruit class, and she was the offensive MVP in her league last season.
