Here is a pic I took at the last home meet and senior game showing the beautiful and unique Cal beach VB setting

When the weather is good it is unmatched, although we still need the new courts as the facilities are terrible

Help is on the way! I believe they had plans to build a new facility over near the Clark Kerr campus, but neighbors objected. The new location is west of Edwards Stadium. See attached.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering what the status of this was. I think Clark Kerr would have been the perfect setting for the new courts, and really can't understand the objection from the neighborhood as BVB is a low attendance event, with only a dozen home matches. Any NCAA tournaments would be years apart.

The new space won't have the charm as it's between tall buildings, but at least it will have much needed facilities. The site says it will have a score board. I laugh because they currently use a flip scorecard like they use in HS

Hopefully they can finish the new courts in time for next season

I also thought the below statement was interesting. For those who have never been to the current location, they have tennis, swimming and a skate board park in the area.

"The existing beach volleyball courts at the Clark Kerr Campus will remain for recreational use"

#10 Cal BVB were THAT close to beating #7 Texas in first round of the 16 team NCAA Championship

They had a great season with lots of records, trophies and big wins, but ended in a heartbreak
