If there is a god, Mike Neu will not be our Baseball coach next year. But the fact that Jim Knowlton is still our AD questions everything.

I've said over-and-over I (OsoDorado) would be the best Coach for our team, but the fact is I don't have the time, and at this stage there is a question whether I'm still young enough to lead us to fairly regular appearances in the College World Series. 20 years ago I definitely would have done it!

Perhaps I would still be a great "transitional" Coach, but since I'm not really available for the long term I'm already doing my search for our next Coach to be ready to offer my views pro bono.

The first criterion is that our new Coach have a similar view to mine as to basic priorities to win and recruit.

There is one candidate standing out to me as I view the regionals, but this is really preliminary. I would have to also review all the winning Coaches that didn't make the playoffs.

I know there is a dude who never went to college and occasionally posts here who for some reason thinks Stanford Coach David Esquer is the best possible college baseball Coach. Let me reassure Cal fans that my potential candidates don't (and won't) include Esquer.

Lol. The women's gymnastic coaches left for greener pastures 3 weeks ago. **** has yet to hire anybody. Astonishingly we've only lost a couple of recruits Plus Emaj.

I think Cal should take a serious look at Wright State Baseball Coach, Alex Sogard. His team just knocked out the #1 seed Vanderbilt on their home field. He's been the coach there since 2018.

He's also an NC State grad so coaching in the ACC might be very attractive to him.

Downside: He'll likely be in strong demand by other programs and expect a hefty paycheck.
