Looks like all of the underclassmen are returning (9) and one new freshmen from Poland. Not sure if any other additions when school actually start. The new head coach Maggie Kane is listed. No assistant coaches are listed, so guessing Stephanie Kusano Wallace & Jean Lozano have departed.

It is interesting that 8 of the 10 team members are foreign students. Apparently this is not unusual in college tennis.

Thanks for the heads up. It's not uncommon for international players or early graduating domestic recruits to be added mid-year. Cal has a verbal commitment from domestic recruit Maria Aytoyan, the #8 player in the '27 class.

Three eligible players are no longer on the roster: junior Greta Greco Lucchina (Italy), senior Tiziana-Marie Schomburg (Germany) & junior Anya Murthy (USA). The Italian player was one of the best players on the team.

There's a bill circulating in Congress that wants to limit the percentage of foreign college players receiving scholarships for college sports. Tennis, for example, has 65% foreign players in the US. The feeling is that American student-athletes (& their families) are being deprived of the financial opportunity to receive these scholarships for a free-ride to achieve a college education. Percentages as low as 20% foreign student-athletes are being debated.

This would really hamper Cal because we have a higher percentage of foreign athletes. Women's basketball, for example, has 50% foreigners (7 of 14) including an American walk-on.
