Steve Singleton was great on the podcast. He stated that the renovated stadium should be ready in January.
If I heard his words correctly, he mentioned that a freshman recruit is competing for a starting position. It also sounded as if the four new pitchers should help bring down the staff's collective ERA from 7 runs per game.
GO BEARS!

Greatly improved pitching staff, new stadium, hearing Pichardo's hitting 300 foot bombs... all music to my ears. Excited to see the new and improved team this fall. Go Bears!
FYI- Looks like we got two commits after the Clemson game (a silver lining, I guess). I'm sure information will come out on those players in the next 24-48 hours.

What an upgrade? I had the opportunity to spend time with the previous coach and knew she wasn't the right person to lead the Cal program. Coach Sing is a very impressive guy.
I believe madyson jade Quintanilla infielder from the south San Francisco is one recruit.
Weslyn McCorvey, 2B, OF, SS, UTL, Mustang, Oklahoma
Madyson Jade Quintanilla, IF, South San Francisco
Have we ever had a recruit from Oklahoma? Way back in the day (i'm talking Jocelyn Forest times) we had a pitcher transfer from the University of Oklahoma.... but if I recall, she was from Nevada.
The player from South SF appears to be a heck of a flag football player too.

I guess when you coach at Texas, the state of Oklahoma becomes pretty familiar territory.
Go Bears!!

The highest rated recruit we're bringing in next year is from Texas. Doesn't hurt to expand the recruiting map!
Weslyn McCorvey was rated #120 in the 2028 Class of Softball America. She appears to possess speed on a double and a stolen base. I did a search.

Madyson Jade Quintanilla's High School Softball Stats
Her high school stats are impressive with 15 HRs as a sophomore. She is a star in flag football, too, so make sure that softball is underlined.

Ranked 4th in the nation by one publication. Big pickup for the Bears!
I do OLU games as they are in my backyard. I'll report if I see her pitch.
Looking forward to the report. I thought I included the write up I referenced in my post, but it looks like it did not send.
T-4Rylee Silva, P, Wildcats 16U Holcomb/Knight
Playing in one of the strongest hotbeds of softball in the country, Orange County, Calif., Rylee has separated herself as an elite two-way player who competes at the highest level throughout the whole year in both high school and travel ball. Her Orange Lutheran High team led by Steve Miklos has won two CIF Southern Section titles and, more recently, has captured seven straight Trinity League championships; impressive as it's one of the most competitive leagues in not just the state, but the nation.
Rylee earned 1st Team All-County and All-CIF Southern Section Div. 1 honors after recording a 1.13 ERA with 111 K's in 105.2 innings and a .457 batting average. For her two-year prep career, Rylee has a .183 BAA and is strong on defense with a .975 fielding percentage. An effective and overpowering pitcher who is a three-sport athlete, she also competes in basketball and flag football.

Another top 100 ranked recruit and our second one of this class from Oklahoma. We've got a whole new region to recruit from!

I am so grateful to announce that I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at UC Berkeley! 🐻💙💛
First, thank you to my parents for always supporting me, pushing me to be better, and teaching me the value of hard work. I wouldn’t be where I am… pic.twitter.com/R0fdYFOxqZ
Quite a summer of travel ball. Team finished 38-9-3 and ended the season with a first place finish in 18U Sparkler National Power Pool and T-3 in AFCS Tier 1. Finished the year slashing .389/.460/.771 with 12 HR and was 37/41 in stolen bases. Looking forward to the upcoming… pic.twitter.com/6SBEhsw0dn

Marcela Attar is ranked #76 and appears to be a strong defensive shortstop. She has HR power and is adept at stealing bases. She'll be a junior this season in Norman, Oklahoma.
Four recruits for 2028 class to date: two from California and two from Oklahoma. GO BEARS!

So glad to see a top 50 pitcher pick Cal! How about another one in the top 150.....It really is all about the pitching staff. Most coaches can find the other talent out there. Great part about softball is the talent level across the country continues to grow. Love how Coach Sing is recruiting

Does it matter? OU built their dynasty primarily with out of state (CA/TX/HI} talent, not in-staters.
I sure think so. They might've built their dynasty in large part on California talent, but the recruiting landscape has completely changed. The No. 1 player in the last class is from Oklahoma (Goose Hutchens), and you'll see that the list of ranked players is riddled with talent from Oklahoma and Texas. The club our two recruits play for is ranked as the third-best club in the country and is based in Oklahoma. Times have changed. Frankly, I think the dominance of Oklahoma has a lot to do with it,
🏆 Congratulations to the Alliance Fastpitch top 10 clubs of 2025. Top clubs are based on AFCS finishes 12U through 18U. Shout out to @impactgoldorg for taking the #1 spot this year 🤝 pic.twitter.com/C986KgBbSR

Yep
Softball gets a commit from the Junior College Catcher of the Year!

A freshman from Franklin, Texas, Lowry batted .507 with 16 doubles, six triples, three home runs and 38 RBI. She posted a .545 on-base percentage, slugged .784 and struck out just 11 times in 154 plate appearances. On defense, she had a .996 fielding percentage, committing just one miscue in 237 chances, and threw out five of the 15 players that attempted to steal against her.
