It was a must win for the Bears, who are now 1-4 against the top 3. Only two at-large teams will be selected for NCAA's so Bears need to get wins against UCLA and SC at home then do well in the MPSF, or win the MPSF tournament for an automatic bid.

Cal's margin of victory of four goals over #1 Stanford was impressive. All of the Bear losses to UCLA & USC have been by 1 or 2 goals. Actually, three losses were only by one goal while the other was by a two-goal margin.
