The National Guard is being vetted because a lot of the Capitol Hill rioters are current and ex military.

In fact, one of the rioters killed is a former member of one of National Guard units that is currently protecting the Capitol.

As I often mention, I'm big time into genealogy and in doing so have come to clearly understand how culture is passed down generationally. I'm affected by things my gg grandparents did or said. (I'll spare you the examples.) Learning how to parent? Passed down. So, if you had black families that were broken up, sold... If you had generations of men who were not built up as leaders...

It's not stretch to suggest our problems today are a direct result of the system we had back then.

I've mentioned this before and someone pushed back by saying black families were more intact in the 40's and 50's than today. I'm not sure if that's true. I'm not sure if that's a convenient way of erasing my point, erasing slavery.

What I don't accept is the attitude I somehow picked up as a kid in the 70's: "slavery ended 100 years ago, get over it" - which led to thinking of "they simply aren't as good or capable as us".
