Pssssst: Liberals generally hate Andre Cuomo. There's a reason why he didn't run for president. Because he's pretty terrible.
This is fake news. Democrats love him.
Cuomo: "Shocking" to See Poll Showing Him Leading 2024 Democratic Field

Yes, he was popular last August.
But there's a reason why Cynthia Nixon put in a scare in his re-election campaign and why he didn't run for president.
Merely taking charge and looking competent during a tragedy goes a long, long way. There was once a kook who was mayor of a big city who looked like the king of the world when tragedy struck his city two decades ago.
and by "put in a scare in his re-election campaign" okaydo doesn't include key facts, just like the media he loves. nothing unusual there. cuomo crushed nixon 65% to 35%. remember that the next time you read anything from okaydo.
(this is the point in the program where okaydo will cite some new yorker article or tmz story with opinions, not facts.)
Yeah, I said she put a "scare" in him, which is exactly what she did.
Maybe you should follow New York politics to know what you're talking about.
Of course, he trounced her -- just like Biden easily crushed Bernie. But would you argue that Bernie didn't put in a scare on the Biden campaign?
Usually, an incumbent who wins 65% of the vote means that he really shouldn't have to do anything to win re-nomination. But he had to take her seriously. She put him on the defensive. She was in his head. He had to work hard to win re-nomination, which resulted in stumbles and controversies. He became more left-leaning.
He had a fiery debate with Nixon, where he was boxed into saying "I will serve four years as governor of the state of New York" if he wins re-election. If he had known he'd easily beat her, he could've allowed himself some wiggle room. If he had run for president in 2020, he would've had to announce in early 2019, which means spending much of 2018 planning a presidential run -- instead, he spent most of 2018 fending off Miranda from Sex and the City.
So yes, she put a scare in him. This wasn't an easy cruise to winning the Democratic primary.
