At this point, two Trump lawyers are asserting the 5th amendment, which is generally believed, particularly by Trump himself, to be an admission of guilt of a crime, but which can't be admitted as evidence.

Trump lawyer, John Eastman, and Trump DOJ Asst. Attorney General, Jeffrey Clark have both virtually admitted guilt for their January 6th activities via invocation of the 5th amendment.

It is time for Merrick Garland to get much more involved. I am looking forward to the public hearings on January 6th that will happen next year. We have come along way from when Trumpophile FBI agents tried to derail the whole thing with anonymous leaks to the media.

Col. Earl Matthews of the DC National Guard has now accused two Army Generals of lying to Congress about their January 6th response.

The two accused Army Generals are Lt. General Walter Piatt and General Charles Flynn. Flynn is the brother of Trump's disgraced National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn. The plot thickens for Gen. Charles Flynn as the Army had originally said he was not involved at all. Later Flynn admitted to being involved and now he is being accused of lying about his involvement.

Those are the types of generals that would lead an insurrection or rebel forces in a civil war. If there is anything to the charges, they should be tried before a military tribunal, and if convicted, serve their sentences at Gitmo.

His lawyers are so bad that he's probably the only major party candidate in history who would be better off with public defenders. Of course it's well deserved. Jenna Ellis is particularly and spectacularly bad, even by Trump's usual standards. Even a dirtbag like J Sekulow cares enough about his reputation to stay far away from defending Ellis's legal ruminations.

It makes me happy to have to see meritless defenses of him by soulless people who are smart enough to understand how bad his defenses are but can't help but support him.

I look forward to learning more about the desperate and ultimately futile attempts by Trump and his cast of misfit toys to overthrow the 2020 election through corrupt means. I am less excited to see what the Republicans are cooking up to prevent future elections from being free and fair.

Republicans had their chance to vote for an independent inquiry to investigate the deadly January 6 Capitol Hill riot. They voted against it. Now, as always, they are playing the victim. It is amazing that one of the two major political parties in the U.S. is unable to understand the simplest of causality scenarios. And why is the GOP so damned whiny?

If it were possible to examine EVERYONE in detail throughout the day, I'd not have a problem for giving mild punishments or fines to those who showed up later, long after the violence stage was over, and it became a "tour" of the building.

That said, it's very hard to divide people into these different buckets, and the entire thing looks like a bunch of completely crazed individuals.

Certainly, the folks who broke windows and smashing through doorways, or struck or pushed officers... they should all be punished harshly. I used to work in that building, as I've said. You simply DO NOT MESS with capitol police. Those thousands of individuals who engaged should be punished harshly!!!! Shame on these people for being so flicking stupid as to be fooled by the likes of Trump. Anyone who has thought that Trump wasn't a complete danger to our country, as I've been yelling for 6 years, I have next to NO compassion for. This, sadly, includes people in my family. It's just amazing what has happened to our country. Delusion.

Im not seeing any rage against Fox News at the moment from their viewers. Why would a person who trusts a source not be upset when you find out they have been lying to you? Answer is pretty obvious.

Curiously, the playbook answer being employed is to say that "see, Fox News was actively trying to stop the violence. We are the good guys." .... yet, the texts show they were concerned purely about optics. aware of who the mob responds to, and then go on air and blame militant blacks and socialists.

If you are a Fox viewer and can't smell what you have been being shoveled at this point - aren't livid with it, then you have been okay with it from the beginning.
