For context, Jim Nabors sang the traditional "Back Home in Indiana Again" for DECADES. From 1972 to 2014.

His partner was with him in 2014 when he last sang the song to open the Indy 500.

Although Nabors's homosexuality was not widely known before this, it was also not completely secret. For instance, Nabors brought his then-partner Stan Cadwallader along to his Indy 500 performance in 1978.
