Turns out having no evidence and unreliable witnesses is just another day for Dems. The damage is already done, but
We don't know the full extent of the damage Gaetz did to the children he victimized, so it's premature to say the damage is done.
As for "unreliable witnesses", the problem is that the main witness is a friend of Gaetz currently doing time for felony sex trafficking. That witness says he witnessed Gaetz pay a teenager for sex but given his credibility problems (like Gaetz, he's a groomer who paid teenagers for sex), the DOJ didn't want to risk an acquittal.
This is just another example of how the justice system fails to hold wealthy powerful people accountable for their crimes. Gaetz should be saying thank you for a gift and is owed no apology.
And lest you think this is just a partisan issue, plenty of GOPers have weighed in on Gaetz because many GOPers still claim (despite evidence to the contrary) that the GOP opposes groomers.
Most recently Nancy Mace.
