The anti-Trump campaign and the indictments seem to have zero effect (if not the reverse): They remind me of those things you used to be able to buy in SF Chinatown, where you'd put your thumbs in it and the harder you tried to pull 'em out, the more stuck they'd be.

Not sure what the solution is, except to say that his support will continue to ever-so-slowly wither -- unfortunately, it's like being able to see the curvature of the earth -- and at some point, he's gonna croak.

There is no constituency for a GOP anti-Trump. We aren't going to change Trumper opinions. We have to get out the vote of people who aren't so filled with hate they seek fascism.

I was curious so I Googled and there have been 5 never elected, but yes The Donald is the only one who never held office even in a non-elected position.

The five presidents who had never been elected to public office before becoming president:

Zachary Taylor, Ulysses S. Grant, Herbert Hoover, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Donald Trump

Taylor, Grant, and Eisenhower were generals.

Hoover was Secretary of Commerce

The Donald was a slumlord, game show host, and stable genius

My first reaction was, hey, what about George Washington? But then I figured I'd better check that before I reveal my ignorance. According to Wikipedia, his first "public office" was Surveyor of Culpeper County. Then, I guess President of the Constitutional Convention probably counts.

I think he was previously elected as a colonial rep or something. But of course he would also qualify as a general.
