I work in elections and what this man is asserting is very naive.
Any machine that can be attained on ebay or otherwise will not be in use at an election.
They are old and obsolete and any new machine that is in use will be protected and changed in such a way as to account for the "hackability" of an older machine.
Also, machines that can be hacked outside the context of an actual election would not be "hackable" inside an election because the machines would be in the custody of election officials who are sworn to follow the law and the constitution.
Any election official who hacks a machine would be risking serious jail time, assuming that they could even do it.
But generally election officials would be unable to hack a machine because elections are run so that there is oversight and usually teams of people are accountable to each other so that no single individual is left alone to adversely affect an election.
And there is so much more that limits the chance of election fraud from happening.
While fraud is technically possible in some situations, it would take massive system-wide failures, unusual technical skills involving teams of insiders and failures of law enforcement and prosecutors to effectively respond.
Ironically it is the red states where these kinds of failures are more likely, historically. The reason being that red states generally have more hostility to protecting civil rights, unless it is the second amendment.

There is a secondary gain for those involved in all of this election rigging BS, which is that they can so convince people that elections cannot be rigged, by arguing that they can, that they can then rig the election themselves and not get caught.

IOW, elections can get rigged with a concerted and conspiratorial effort, but it is historically and ideologically more likely that the Republicans would do it than the Democrats. The reason is that, demographically speaking, the Dems. don't need to rig an election to win but the Repubs. do. Also, there is historic precedence for this. In 2000 Bush was selected by the US supreme court. There was no legal or practical argument to stop the recount and yet the supreme created a reason for political reasons, handing that election to Bush and subsequently costing the lives of over 10,000 innocent Iraqui citizens. At the time, and for decades, the supreme court has ideologically sided more with Republican political ideas.

There is another disclaimer to be made. Around the same time of the Bush election, the state of California sued Diabold voting systems for failing to create a voting machine that met the standards. The result is that Diebold can no longer use their machines in California. Amazingly, the federal government never acted to ban Diebold nationally and several states still use Diebold machines which can be hacked. It's possible that Diebold has made improvements and currently meets standards in those states but I find it ironic that the Trump folks decided not to go after Diebold but went after Dominion instead. Dominion machines cannot be hacked.

Although Diebold machines can, and have been, hacked (see "Hacking Democracy" on youtube if they didn't censor it), the hacking has never been in favor of one party overall. Both the Dems and the Repubs. have manipulated figures inside the Diebold machines to impact results. It's 3rd parties, which have not hacked the machines, that are hurt by the hacking.

Anyway, once again, the Q-Anon misinformation machine has taken a historic truth and twisted the narrative to make present day conspiracy theories seem believable when they are not.

I have made several posts pointing out that tRump rigged the 2020 Election but that his foreign handlers underestimated the number of votes they would have to paste on the board to "win."

tRump has a long history of never starting any race at the starting blocks with the rest of the field. He won't make that mistake in 2024. The only thing that can defeat him are the consequences of being 5'11 300 lbs.
