It may have angered you at the time, but Fox wasn't wrong when they called Arizona for Biden.

They were premature, given that none of the other networks called it so early.

Ultimately not wrong, though.

Yeahbut they were supposed to call it for Trump early, regardless of the facts in hand. Like good little Faux News that Righties loved and thought they new.

But even ol' Rupert is more of a businessman than a politician, and he decided hitching his wagon to this Trump train going over the washed out bridge ahead was no longer sound business strategy.

Don't know if it will actually happen, but I heard that Florida's esteemed Governor agreed yesterday to debating Newsome and I found it rather interesting, not to mention unprecedented (to my knowledge). I suppose we can agree it's a good thing, right? Each side will figure their guy's gonna win and, most importantly, ideas are debated.

On another thread recently, I posed the following question: Name a potential candidate (any party) who you think would beat Gavin Newsom in a general Presidential election in 2024. Kinda scary for you GOPsters, isn't it? Better hope Biden stays healthy!

Vivek Ramaswamy

"Big V" might take it to the house, who knows?!?

Gavin is sharp. Vivek is sharp. Gavin, to me, has a bit of politician slime about him. Vivek hasn't been around long enough to get tainted. I like him so far.

I didn't know this allegation about a young Harvey Milk.

NBC News: Southern California school board rejects curriculum that mentions Harvey Milk

"Proponents of the ban say Milk was a sexual predator, referring to a disputed claim that the gay rights icon had an inappropriate relationship with a minor. Opponents say changing the curriculum four weeks before school is scheduled to start would unnecessarily throw teachers' lesson plans into turmoil."

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/southern-california-school-board-rejects-curriculum-mentions-harvey-mi-rcna94732

It was documented in SF Chron reporter Randy Shilts' book on Milk. Apparently Milk had a predilection for young runaways.

Quote:

According to The Mayor of Castro Street, Milk's very favorable biography by Randy Shilts, in 1963, when Milk was 33, he took in "Jack" Galen McKinley, a 16-year-old runaway in New York City "who was looking for some kind of father figure," to live with him as a lover.

MAGA idiots complained about Hilary.
Her server.
Benghazi.
She's a lesbian.
She's falling down, about to die, can't handle the job.

Then she was gone and we don't hear a peep.

Up comes Joe Biden, the guy who saved today's leading criminal MAGA SCOTUS, Clarence Thomas. You'd think they'd be glad to have Joe rather than the likes of Bernie Sanders.

But no, these MAGA idiots then turned Joe Biden into their own imagined criminal.
Impeachment chatter.
Hunter.
Too old.
Blah blah blah.

But do you think any of us will hear a peep about Joe when he's out of office?
Of course not.
And they've already moved on to their next, future perceived enemies: the California Governor.

Invented Outrage.
You guys are not only predictable, but despicable!

I saw Gavin get bushwhacked by Axios in an interview on HBO a couple of years back. He was expecting softballs but they threw fastballs to his head. He pulled it off and thought well on his feet.
DeSantis thinks well on his feet too….like when he was covering up criminal misconduct at Gitmo as an attorney in the Navy.

Why Bernie's Bros Might Go for Trump - POLITICO Magazine

https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/05/why-bernies-bros-might-go-for-trump-213915

"History shows us that when disenchantment with establishment politics and institutions is high, as it is today, voters don't always vote along ideological lines.

In 1968 and 1980, insurgent liberal challengers Eugene McCarthy and Ted Kennedy captured a popular wave of anti-establishment sentiment but failed to win their party's nomination. In November, many of their supporters veered sharply to the right, voting for candidates who didn't necessarily share their political views but who served as a convenient outlet for the expression of their broader frustrations. In both cases, this block of Democratic defectors helped deliver the election to the Republican Party."

*But will the syndrome above be neutralized by tRump defectors voting for Robert "I just blasted my pecs" Kennedy, Jr.

How Clinton lost Michigan and blew the election
https://www.politico.com/story/2016/12/michigan-hillary-clinton-trump-232547

Quote:

"They believed they were more experienced, which they were. They believed they were smarter, which they weren't," said Donnie Fowler, who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee during the final months of the campaign. "They believed they had better information, which they didn't."
Quote:

"I've never seen a campaign like this," said Virgie Rollins, a Democratic National Committee member and longtime political hand in Michigan who described months of failed attempts to get attention to the collapse she was watching unfold in slow-motion among women and African-American millennials.

Rollins, the chair emeritus of the Michigan Democratic Women's Caucus, said requests into Brooklyn for surrogates to come talk to her group were never answered. When they held their events anyway, she said, they also got no response to requests for a little money to help cover costs.

Rollins doesn't need a recount to understand why Clinton lost the state.

"When you don't reach out to community folk and reach out to precinct campaigns and district organizations that know where the votes are, then you're going to have problems," she said.

As to the title of this thread, you Republicans might want to ease up on the "Biden's Age" issue for another several months, lest you get your worst nightmare, namely candidate Gavin Newsom, who would freaking MOP THE FLOOR with Trump or anybody else you could come up with.

He used to be very popular, then Californians had to come to grips with having to share him with the rest of the country and, eventually, the world (future Supreme Leader of the New World Order). That is why SF has entered a "doom loop", because Newsome has had to begin to concentrate on larger issues.

I haven't been thrilled with some of the things he did for sure.

The tax refund was a dumb idea.

Fast tracking green energy projects seems like a good idea until you realize how damaging they are to the environment.

Not happy about the law to ignore local ordinances to allow ADUs to be built and sold regardless of setbacks and other requirements. That is just a loophole for investors to easily subdivide property.

I think he's a corporate shill and Republicans should be glad to have him as a candidate. He's definitely far more moderate than he would have most Dems believe. I mean, what was he doing at French Laundry? Celebrating the birthday of a friend who also happens to be a lobbyist.

The best comparison of Newsom is probably Bill Clinton. Is that a bad thing? In 1992 no. In 2024? Maybe.

I think Newsom would make a better President than Governor precisely because moderate by California standards is more palatable to most of the country. Unfortunately, coming from California he is going to be painted as a liberal regardless. I would point the people who ask where the moderate/center candidates have gone to Newsom.

Biden and Trump are so entrenched they cannot be beat in Primaries. But they are both so vulnerable that it's a smart political move to shadow or primary them. Hell, we could easily get a news alert at any time that Biden has died; Trump is likely to be jailed before the next Presidential election.
