Their only agenda has been chaos, so this is pretty on brand for them.

It's an entire party chock full of unserious, incapable, compromised individuals who have no idea what they want other than to prevent democrats from accomplishing anything that might make Americans think they can reasonable ask their government to make any attempts to improve our country.

Having no speaker will save them the expectations that come from leadership. Now they won't just abdicate responsibility and ownership for their actions (or lack thereof) and will just blame democrats for not being able to pass bills without the democrats having one person to point the finger of.

As many of us stated last year, McCarthy had the worst job in all of politics (one that he deserved to suffer in) and there may not be anyone else callow enough to take it on.

Speaker of the House is second in line to the Presidency. There will be an "Acting Speaker", but I guess they do not qualify for this. Third in line is the President Pro Tem of the Senate. Quick, can you name this person?

It is Patty Murray of Washington (yes, I had to look it up). Usually, of late, that position goes to the member of the majority party with the most seniority. So I guess it could have been Diane Feinstein, except she declined the position for "health" reasons... and also died. Oh, wow...

I'm guessing "spy types" in Russia and China are spit balling scenarios where they could destabilize the US by knocking off the POTUS and VPOTUS. And no doubt Biden and Harris aren't going to be anywhere near each other until this all gets settled. Along with heightened security. If you're in the Secret Service and were planning a vacation this month, that is now on hold.

Even in eviction proceedings you get 30 days to vacate. I guess it's OK to give virtually no notice if you hate the person though. I look forward to seeing boxes of material (some of it classified) left in the hallway.
