Harris leads in Iowa by 3 in the highly accurate Selzer poll.

"Typically the final Des Moines Register poll before Election Day is widely anticipated for its unique ability to predict the result. This year, it was mostly being ignored, since neither candidate this year is competing for Iowa's electoral votes.

But the result Kamala Harris leading Donald Trump, 47 percent to 44 percent, within the margin of error raised eyebrows as soon as it was posted to the Register's website Saturday night."

Can Harris take all the blue wall states, as well as Iowa, Ohio and Kansas? Even TX is closing, which hopefully means Cancun Closet Cruz will be kicked to the curb.

It's worth noting that there have been unusually close polls in Ohio and Kansas lately (Harris within single digits). The Senate race in Nebraska has been stubbornly close too (there it's a race between the Republican incumbent and an "independent" without party affiliation). Could be that too many pollsters have been "herding" with close numbers in the known swing states, but outside of that are being a bit more honest about the GOP losing support in the midwest. Selzer's track record is really good and usually indicates how the rest of the region is trending.

It's less about Iowa specifically and more what it says about how working-class and rural white voters are trending. That trend tends to carry across the rest of the Midwest. If Trump has lost support there then he's toast in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

That's IF Selzer is right, of course.
