These assorted incidences have included 100s of drones, drones operating in unison, being "coordinated", drones the size of SUVs (ie, not hobbyists).

I think the local college is using the drone shows at halftimes, just like we do for Cal games once in awhile. They are a cool spectacle, nothing to be alarmed about. They are probably performed by Iranians though.

These are reportedly not hobbyist drones. They are the size of SUVs; fly at altitudes, speeds and ranges which are not available in any civilian model; operate in formation and unison, sometimes in coordination with smaller drones at lower altitudes. If we accept that then this is either a foreign entity or it is our own government.

Wright-Patterson air space was shut down for 2 days because of them. Langley is home to certain USAF command; they apparently tried track the drones but lost them; the drones flew over the AFB (and our largest Navy base) for 17 days. The English bases support NATO, I believe.

People are having fun with the NJ/NY stuff but there's a little meat on these bones. It would be nice to know what's going on.

FAA, FBI, DHS, DOD all say the NJ drones are not a national security threat. That is good. But the government has also said the drones are not US military assets but they don't know who they belong to or where they are flying to/from. It is curious they can not know those things but also say the drones are not a national security threat. It sure seems like they are lying to us.

I'm pretty clueless on this subject, but can't they shoot some of these drones down and then trace them?

Congress was briefed yesterday about the NJ drones. Reportedly were told it's nothing - definitely not US assets and not a threat.

Maybe this is a case where lack of information and communication caused suspicions. However, what about the 3 USAF bases and contemporaneous reports the drones were not civilian? It still seems like we are not getting the full story.

If the US government isn't saying anything or taking any action it means it is the US government or someone operating with their blessings.

It's need to know and you don't need to know.

According to this former CIA agent, the drones are from another country and our government is currently tracking them to gather valuable information which is the main reason why they aren't shooting them down outside of public safety. There is no benefit to the government and military to tell the general public right now that the drones belong to a foreign adversary.
