Sullenberger urged a measured approach in investigating the crash, with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) compiling a report.

The NTSB "is the gold standard of the globe for accident investigation," Sullenberger said, reminding that it took 16 months for the final report when his own flight crashed.

"We can have great confidence that the results will be found, they will be made public," he said.

On Friday, Trump posted new blame on his Truth Special platform, singling out the helicopter's supposed trajectory.

"Not surprised. Disgusted."

The American people are getting what they voted for and I hope they get it in droves.

Wait, aren't you an American person? I know I am and, frankly, I don't want to "get it in droves".

I believe I'm in the early stages of getting "it in droves". As awful as it's going to be, I believe we're all going to have to let Trump's administration continue to overplay their hand until everyone's pain makes us realize what a mistake we've made.

Agree. I don't want to "get it in droves", but at the same time, I don't feel like anything I can say would convince anybody to change their mind. Even in a few months, when eggs are $10+.doz, they will still be blaming Biden.

Eventually, however, when the tariff effects kick in and the proverbial dozen of eggs is &12+,, sure, a few people will try screaming "DEI!", but the truth will be harder and harder to avoid.

The Blackhawk helicopter pilot was flying 100' higher than stipulated. This young pilot had worked in the Biden White House, and appeared to do a lot of non-flight-related projects / work. I'm kind of old fashioned. I appreciate diverse interests. But I want my mechanic, dentist, and airline pilots to be obsessed experts, not half-hearted.

It would be good to see the test scores on all individuals involved - pilots, ATC, the instructors who trained these pilots, etc. (Were she and her co-pilots adequately trained?)

Can we significantly upgrade ATC equipment - and PILOT IT - before mass roll out?

Attorney Bill Shipley has asserted that Congressional members use helicopter rides to avoid DC traffic, putting an additional strain on the situation.

Nationally, we're supposedly critically understaffed, and the Biden Administration allegedly turned away over 1,000 ATC applicants with relevant technical training and perfect test scores because they were European or Asian. Racism much?

We're not flying a chopper in the middle of one of the busiest air corridors in the world. This is a job where not being infallible is unacceptable.

From the many videos of the crash, this was not just a normal accident but a horrendous pilot error.

Hmm, I was speaking in general not in this specific instance.

Name 5 things Republicans/Conservatives were/are clearly wrong about something and admit it and own it and fight to remedy their blatant wrongdoing.

Maybe, but you are throwing an expert under the bus to fit your political views. Instead you want to believe serial liars to support your political views.

From your Wikipedia article: "In a subsequent interview with Lawrence O'Donnell, Sullenberger elaborated his position, discussing his belief that voters should act as a check and balance in a partisan government.[86] He also wrote that he has been a registered Republican for the majority of his adult life but has "always voted as an American".[87]"

It appears he's supported a few candidates and lobbied for a few causes. Scandalous!

It also means just about everyone in Off Topic must be a politician too.

I also want to see cell phone records. Were copilots and crew texting or taking pics when they were supposed to be aiding their young and modestly experienced pilot?

If he wasn't paid for shooting an anti-Trump commercial, it means he's a highly motivated partisan activist.

Either way, hardly a neutral opinion.

So you are only allowed to question the king if you agree with the king, otherwise your expert opinion does not matter. And since people that support the king are afraid to question the king, for obvious reasons, the kings supporters are part of a cult.

Yes and 51 intelligence experts who questioned the king also turned out to be political hacks.

This is not about kings or queens Poly, it's about a freekin chopper flying at the wrong altitude straight into a plane, a gross piloting error that cost the lives of 67 people.
