What Trump just did is literally a self-inflicted supply shock.
Less trade and higher prices means less jobs and slower growth with higher inflation.
This is basic Econ. 1.

And for those clowns still drinking the Kool-Aid about how these are "negotiation" tools, his top trade advisor, Howard Lutnick his nominee for commerce secretary hasn't yet been confirmed by the Senate.

It was Trump that campaigned on lowering costs.
Now he's raising them.
