Documents obtained by The Washington Post show that Patel received the money from Global Tree Pictures, a Los Angeles-based company run by Igor Lopatonok, a Russian national who also holds U.S. citizenship, whose previous projects include a pro-Russian campaign funded by a program created by Vladimir Putin. He has also produced programs promoting "deep state" conspiracy theories and anti-Western views advanced by the Kremlin.

Patel worked with Lopatonok as an executive producer on a six-part series, titled All the President's Men: The Conspiracy Against Trump, which aired in November on right-wing broadcaster Tucker Carlson's online network. In the series, Patel and other veterans of the first Trump administration were depicted as victims of a deep state conspiracy that "destroyed the lives of those who stood by Donald Trump in an attempt to remove the democratically elected president from office."

It's a cute fantasy to imagine the Republicans in Congress doing anything other than making sure their lips stay firmly wrapped around Trump's tiny unit.

I think the guys being purged from the ranks of the FBI and CIA and replaced by ideologue Trump loyalists are career professionals that know their tradecraft. If I were Trump's lads, I would heed WW's advice to his brother in law, Hank:



…..but they work for Trump, so we all know they will be way too f@ucking stupid to do that.

*Add to this all the high level experienced military personnel being purged. Hmm

*An analogy, on a smaller scale, is Pamela Price bringing loyalist hacks into the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. She couldn't pull of a purge like Trump because the Deputy D.A.'s joined the Teamster's Union to counter a purge, but many ended up quitting. As you know, the office went sideways and Price got recalled. Trump can't be recalled…but sideways it's going.
