In two years, states will hold elections for congress and Trump's Federal Election Commission will tinker with the results to get the totals he needs to keep going.

States that they can't get their hands on will increasingly tilt Democrat, to get him the hell out of there, but Trump-aligned states will be assured to produce the desired results.
And it's like the board game Risk, once you take over a bordered area (country/state), even if by one army unit/vote, you then get to stack as many additional army units in there on your next turn, to amass such a force that it'll never be taken back.
This is what all the great authoritarian dictators do. They call them elections, but they are only just for show at that point.
