There are interesting people in this forum. I am also near certain (99%+ posts in the OT board) that we have at least one Russian bot (well actually poor sap working in an office building in Moscow working literally for "the man"). Ignore works but I still see that they have posted.

It is the slow season. Football hasn't started. BB is just playing out the string. It would be nice to interact with smart Cal-affiliated folks but not anonymous posters who are likely angi-prop people (or boomers posting from their winter home with WAY too much time on hands).

I've said it before: can you imagine having your detail be providing propaganda on the off topic section of a sparsely populated message board for a university with an almost relegated football team?

That's like being stationed in Siberia.

I love our Bears, but you're not good at your job if this is where you log on to with dreams of making a disinformation difference. I sure hope it's a bot, because if it's a human… that sucks. For the greater good, I suppose?

My guess is that at least 30% of Americans believe the disinformation Russia has been dumping here for years….and there is a reason why they bought it and elected Trump, TWICE:

A majority of Americans cannot name a single branch of government or explain what the Bill of Rights is;

2. 24% can't name the country that the U.S. fought in the Revolutionary War;

3. 2/3 don't know what the holding of Roe v. Wade is;

4. 2/3 don't know what the Food and Drug Administration does;

5. 50% don't know each state has two senators;

6. More than 50% can't name their congressman;

7. The average voter thinks 24% of the U.S. budget goes to foreign aid (less than 1% does);

8. 18% thinks the sun revolves around the earth;

Back in the Greybear days, during the 2007 Washington game, we had something like 3rd and 23 and we were already blowing the game against a historically bad Washington team in a dumpster fire of a season and Tedford ran a draw play. In chat, I said that Tedford was a f***ing pus sy. Greybear didn't care for that, even though it was in chat where it wouldn't be seen by anyone except subscribers. I was pissed about the season and basically dared him to ban me for it if he didn't like it. He obliged me.

Later on, BearGreg bought the board and gave everybody a clean slate. As time went on, he started getting complaints because people felt I was being too negative about the teams. I hadn't actually broken any rules for conduct - I just wasn't drinking everyone else's Kool Aid. So he banned me for being too negative. Nowadays, you don't stand out at all for saying football and basketball stink.

Meanwhile, you have guys like unBear89 who break the rules constantly and the most he ever gets is a 30 day timeout, after which he goes straight back into the behavior that got him the timeout.

So yeah, I don't have a lot of respect for BearGreg's "rules" that he doesn't enforce or for BearGreg himself.

This board should not exist. It simply creates division between Cal fans.

Any thread with posts from both Yogi and Chapman automatically has that spiciness that I adore!
