It's highly ironic that when Trump and JD Vance "dressed" down Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House back in February, Trump claimed that Zelensky had "no cards" and Vance said that Zelensky should be "thanking" the United States.
I would strongly disagree with that preposterous claim.
In fact, it should be the other way around.
It is the United States that should be THANKING UKRAINE for EXPOSING RUSSIA as not even remotely being the "superpower" that it has long been hyped to be.
As the late John McCain once said in early 2015:
"Look, Russia is a gas station masquerading as a country," McCain said. "It's kleptocracy. It's corruption. It's a nation that's really only dependent upon oil and gas for their economy, and so economic sanctions are important."
What Zelensky just pulled off with Operation Spiderweb clearly goes to show that he does indeed "hold many cards" as opposed to what the Orange Buffoon claimed back in February at the White House.
This achievement was a slap in the face of Russia - - - and not the first.
At the beginning of the war there was the Moskva cruiser, the flagship of its fleet, sunk off Odesa by two Ukrainian made missiles. Then, the double strike on the Kerch Bridge, Vladimir Putin's pride, the jewel of his cardboard crown and a symbol of the continuity he believed he was establishing between Crimea and Russia.
Last year, half of Mr. Putin's fleet in the Black Sea was destroyed. The other half retreated pitifully to Novorossiysk or the Sea of Azov. Also in 2024, Ukraine staged an offensive in Russia's Kursk region.
Putin and his people (and the propagandists here on this forum) stand exposed as braggarts, paper tigers.
Ukraine is David to the Goliath of Russia, nearly 30 times its size.
And now a most brilliant operation called Spiderweb takes out 41 aircraft (mostly highly valued strategic bombers) at 4 different airports in Russia, reaching as deep as Siberia. Perhaps even more telling is the fact that Russia's aviation industry show NO SIGNS of being able to produce a plane that fills the role of the highly coveted Tupolev bomber.
This is the Ukrainian equivalent of the September 2024 pager attack in which Israel annihilated nearly all of Hezbollah's active forces. This was Russia's "Pearl Harbor". It will no doubt be taught at war schools for ages.
BRAVO MR. ZELENSKY.
BRAVO!

Zelensky launched a string of daring raids against Russia. He's proving to Trump that Ukraine has the cards after all
