The house we are buying appraised for a solid amount over our purchase price. The sale / purchase / move process is wearing me down so any snippet of positive like this is very welcome.
Thanks. Yeah, they definitely are. I am already taking it in the shorts on that front some by not being able to move on the finances even a week sooner. And I'll get the double whammy here in a bit as a seller when our house finally gets on the market. This is the 1st time we've sold and moved and it has been a big hassle. My mantra is "just keep moving forward"
Flown to the Oakland Zoo for care. 3-week old Crimson!
Cute mountain lion cub!
When I was in the Boy Scouts around 1970, we had a campout in Redwood Regional Park. The kid I was sharing a tent with woke me up at 4 AM because something was outside making heavy breathing noises. We quietly peeked out and saw the backside of a mountain lion about 20 feet away. It probably smelled our food. We just stayed quiet so it wouldn't get scared and attack one of the tents. It wandered off a minute or two later. The next morning no one believed us until we found some large paw prints in the mud next to a creek. We mentioned it to the Park Ranger who said they occasionally got reports like ours but it had been 50 years since the last confirmed sighting.
So, when Crimson is ready to be released into the wild, there is some mountain lion habitat just 3-4 miles away from the Oakland Zoo. However, a more remote location would be better.
