On the one hand, it is funny to see Comey get indicted after he tanked Hillary's election chances and gave Trump the victory.

On the other hand, it will be funny to see Team Trump get humiliated by a jury again.

Oh wait. Thats the same hand.

Yes, for me the entertainment value will be watching prosecutors who have never tried a substantive matter in their careers try to prosecute this case.

All the competent prosecutors have either quit or been fired. In addition, even if a competent prosecutor survived the purge, they are not going to want to handle a matter that may very well result in the loss of their law license.

The boss, Halligan, has no prosecutorial experience and most likely has never even first chaired a a civil jury trial. She needs a strong #2 to run the operation for her. She won't even find a weak #2 in the cupboard.

If this case ever sees the lights of a courtroom, Comey will call Trump as a defense witness to prove his defense that this meritless prosecution was ordered by Trump out of vindictiveness.

Comey's attorney will cross exam Trump on that statement on the witness stand and Trump will…..

……flip the f@uck out.

* Halligan signed the Indictment. She is a very nice looking woman. If she gets her ticket yanked, she can always fall back on a mature model career. My question is…..

….will Halligan cry like Jenna Ellis when she appears before the State Bar Court?

Ask the 274 FBI agents who just happened to be there at the Capitol. We were originally told there were no FBI agents!

Well, at least you've accepted the fact that Comey is guilty in the court of public opinion.

On NBC and James Comey's Indictment
How to cover a crime story, network style

NBC News just ran a 1,012-word article titled, "Former FBI Director James Comey indicted."

Here are all the words about the substance of the charges:
Quote:

The charges stem from testimony Comey gave on Sept. 30, 2020, during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. Asked by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, about testimony he gave in 2017 asserting that he did not authorize leaking information regarding the FBI's investigations into President Donald Trump or former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Comey said, "I stand by the testimony."

Comey's deputy, Andrew McCabe, has said that Comey authorized him to leak information to the press, according to a 2018 Justice Department inspector general's report. But the report also found that McCabe made multiple false or misleading statements.

The rest is about politicization of the Justice system, objections to the case from within the office of Acting U.S. Attorney from the Eastern District of Virginia Lindsay Halligan, Donald Trump's social media posts, the notion that Comey has been in Trump's crosshairs since he "launched an investigation into Russian election interference in the 2016 presidential race," John Durham's failure to charge Comey previously, and other matters.

NBC's sole reference to Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz's report on "James Comey's Unauthorized Disclosure of Sensitive Information and Handling of Certain Memoranda" concerned statements by Andrew McCabe. It did not mention sixteen other witnesses, nor the conclusion: "We have previously faulted Comey for acting unilaterally and inconsistent with Department policy. Comey's unauthorized disclosure of sensitive law enforcement information… merits similar criticism."

NBC does not mention the name of Columbia University professor Daniel Richman, about whom recently released FBI memos disclosed: "Comey instructed the FBI to hire Richman as a Special Government Employee (SGE)" and "grant him a Top Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information" in 2015, so he could "discuss sensitive matters, including classified information, with someone outside of the FBI's regular leadership."

Finally, NBC also does not mention the name Michael Schmidt, the New York Times reporter who used Richman as a source in stories describing Comey as "apolitical and independent."

Schmidt is the husband of MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace.

The allegation appears to be that Comey authorized FBI leaks about the Clinton investigation (which went nowhere) and then lied about it to Congress in 2020. I hope he goes to prison.

You dont even know what he was charged with.
The indictment doesnt specifically say.

This is a shoddy joke.
But you havent figured that out yet.

Are you always this ignorant?

I've got $500 that says Comey walks.

I've been saying for 9 years that somebody in the FBI was guilty of sabotaging Clinton. If it's Comey then it's Comey. But I agree he'll probably walk. I'd never bet on the competence of magats.

I think a bigger wager than that can be placed on the proposition that the DOJ can't even field a prosecutor that is capable of surviving the law and motion phase of the case.

A 2-page indictment.

I remember when the GOP was against frivolous lawsuits. Now, they spew them left and right.

This is just more Mob style intimidation.

I cant wait for Donald Trump to DIE.
He's such a stain on American democracy.

Our magat friends seem to have lost some enthusiasm since the news came out that at it's core, this is about how Comey victimized Hillary in support of Trump. Reality seems to have a way of intruding on their fantasies. See Durham, John for reference.

For once, Trump is right. But it's not a surprise that Trump knew. We already know people in the FBI were feeding info to Giuliani who would tell Trump. So Trump was in on the action of the FBI sabotaging Hillary in real time.

The reason the Clinton charge is in the indictment is because the statute of limitations was set to expire.

Here is some nuance that you'll never get from a dishonest person like @dajo9

The left wingnuts don't care about Comey either, do they? If they were smart, they shouldn't waste their energy misleading the public into thinking he's some innocent person because if Comey doesn't get prison time, the People might have to protest, mostly peaceful protesting of course. Save your energy when Trump goes after Obama.

Liberals sound like loser Cal fans when they blame Hillary's loss on Comey and not on Hillary, where the blame squarely belongs. Nobody all of a sudden decided not to vote for Hillary and vote for Trump because of Comey.

"The first few days in any new job are always hard, but Thursday was especially tough for Lindsey Halligan, the newly installed U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.

She had to navigate an unfamiliar courthouse, make her first-ever appearance in a criminal case and, on top of all that, indict one of President Trump's enemies.

Ms. Halligan, who took over on Monday after her predecessor quit rather than prosecute James B. Comey with what he believed was insufficient evidence, had a little trouble with the first two tasks. At one point, she entered the wrong courtroom. When she found the right one, she stood on the wrong side of the judge, then appeared confused about the paperwork she just had signed."
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/27/us/politics/trump-comey-justice-department.html

"Lindsey Halligan, 36, was sworn in as interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia on Monday, taking over one of the most significant prosecutorial offices in the country despite having no experience as a prosecutor at any level……

During Halligan's college years, she competed in the Miss Colorado USA pageant twice, reaching the semifinals in 2009 and placing third runner-up in 2010……

Halligan's trajectory changed dramatically in November 2021 when she met Trump at his West Palm Beach golf course, according to her statement to the Washington Post. Trump added her to his legal team several months later amid the FBI's investigation into his handling of classified documents. She was present during the FBI's August 2022 search of Mar-a-Lago and became involved in Trump v. United States, a lawsuit requesting a special master to review seized materials.

Her federal court debut proved rocky. District Judge Aileen Cannon rejected two of Halligan's filings for failing to comply with local procedures, directing her to the court's website for instructions on proper document submission. A subsequent refiling was similarly rejected with the same guidance.

In March 2025, Trump assigned her to lead an initiative to remove "improper ideology" from Smithsonian Institution museums, the National Zoo, and other facilities. This role involved reviewing exhibits that she viewed as disparaging to the United States.

The Eastern District of Virginia, known as the "rocket docket" for its rapid case processing, handles significant national security and terrorism cases owing to its proximity to Washington, D.C. The office serves more than 6 million people with a staff of 300 prosecutors, according to ABC News."
