The video was first obtained by Fox News.

The Department of Homeland Security responded to CNN's questions about the video in a statement that noted the "public service video is rolling out across the country," then repeated the language in the video almost verbatim.

"We will continue to do all that we can to avoid delays that will impact your travel, and our hope is that Democrats will soon recognize the importance of opening the government," the video concludes.

TSA checkpoints often include videos featuring government officials welcoming travelers and explanations of procedures, but they usually do not contain political messages.

there's probably a lot of truth to what Reich wrote, yet the easy counter woudl be for local communities to allow their police to help secure federal facilities with crowd control. For example, when LAPD sends out it s SWAT team to get bad guys, the local police squad cars block off entrances to the street. If LAPD would have done something similar to keep agitators from attacking the LA federal buildings, Trump woudl have no cause to send in the troops. (The feds have a responsibility to protect federal property, particularly if the local police will not.)

The Blue Cities are just playing into Trump;s hands.
