What is their approach or solution to the bear overpopulation problem in N. CA?

In response, California's wildlife management plan focuses on conservation, managing conflicts, and maintaining hunting opportunities.

Bear population and density
  • High density: Northwest California has one of the highest densities of black bears in the world.
  • Population growth: The state's bear population has grown substantially, from an estimated 10,000-15,000 in 1980 to an estimated 60,000-85,000 currently.
  • Population drivers: The prohibition of hound hunting in 2012 has been cited as a factor in the population increase, as the hunting quotas have not always been met. "

There are still a lot of Dumbericans out there in the Lake Tahoe area that do not secure their trash.
If they did that, there wouldn't be any "conflicts".

Remember, most of the "problems" that man has with nature is because of STUPID humans.

On another note, it's great to see how many charitable Cal alums there are on Giving Tuesday here on OT.
