Bari Weiss scraps 60 Minutes segment criticizing the Trump administration hours before air.

But she forgot that the original broadcast was sent to Canadian TV, which posted it on its app. Watch it here.

I hope the first ones to tender their resignations are the business reporters who tried to convince people that Biden's economy was good. I'd like them to experience what the job market for a middle aged reporter is like in 2025.

You're gonna love 2026 even more when INFLATION goes to the Moon and prices MAGA out.
Can't wait for Trump's next stooge at the Federal Reserve to start lowering rates.

The fun has already started!

I posted something like this in the censorship thread, but honestly I think this is less about Weiss trying to censor a story and more that she is clueless about how TV news operates (a key criticism I saw people make when she was hired for this job). I read some of the notes she had on the story and things she thought needed to be changed and/or added. They're reasonable enough.

The problem is that she seemingly dropped all of this stuff on Friday before the segment was supposed to air on Sunday and had already been advertised. Perhaps also when it had already been sent to foreign outlets (hence the segment still airing in Canada). It was way too late to come in and pull the segment over those concerns that should have been raised at least a week ago. You can probably do that in print media, because no one is advertising the content of columns a week ahead of time and it's not a huge lift for a reporter to call up some more government officials and get quotes. In TV that means you might have to bring them in, schedule some time, get cameras and makeup ready, etc. Much bigger deal to ask for that.

Even if there had been no leaks and no reporters talking to the press you still would have had people coming around to ask questions about why that advertised CECOT segment wasn't in the show. There was no avoiding the s***show for the network, the way she did it. Weiss doesn't understand TV.

You seem to know more about the economy than I do and tbh it's not really my area of interest.

For ****s and giggles, what happens though if/when you're wrong? Do you admit you're wrong or just try and cover it up with a different chart?

Setting aside for the moment yet another example of just how ****ing stupid you are, I'm curious if you watched the segment, since it's so important that everybody see it.

Please post the video for me.
My understanding was that Weiss wanted to hide truth, and that's an odd thing for head of a news program.

And the reason I mocked you for supporting censorship is because you apparently wanted reporters who released information to lose their jobs.

But correct me where I'm misguided.

They aren't losing their jobs, he said resigning. That's their choice. You mentioned censorship because you cant help yourself and have to make things up regularly.

You're funny.

I have a substantial amount of my net liquid worth in the markets.
If the reason why I went long or short no longer exists and is wrong, I get out of the position.

In other words, I actually have "skin" in the game.
I thought that you would have known that by now given how closely you follow my posts.

My thesis above regarding INFLATION and what gold is already telling people is Basic Econ. 101
This isn't anything unusual.

Not sure why you aren't able to understand what happens when monetary policy "eases" and a Fed Chairman (crony) is put into a role to do nothing but lower rates and pump the economy. If you don't know how the cost of capital impacts inflation or the bond market, then I guess I can't help you understand a basic fundamental concept.

FWIW: The greatest traders are only right 55% of the time.
It's what you do with your "losers" that is key.

That should be obvious to even the average Joe in the street.
